Interim Recommendation of the Senate Appointed Committee for evaluation of

Seminar/Project based courses for continuing FD, HD and PhD students registered in Second
Semester 2019-20

In view of the unprecedented challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, a systematic
closure to the current Semester was deemed essential emphasizing on the safety and health of
all concerned. A Senate appointed Committee submitted its recommendations with regard to
completion of the Semester in terms of courses and labs offered in Second Semester of 2019 –
2020 (including content delivery, examination and evaluation). Based on the recommendation of
the Committee and subsequent approval of the same, a final communication was sent to
students and faculty from the Vice-Chancellor on 3rd June 2020.

The recommendation emphasized on considering graduating and continuing students separately

for the purpose of evaluation and grading. While evaluation and grading would be completed in
all courses for graduating students by 15th July 2020, it was recommended that all continuing
students will be awarded GA (Grade Awaited) in all the courses registered in Second Semester
2019-20. This will apply to FD, HD and PhD students.

As an extension to the above recommendations, it is proposed that the evaluation of

Seminar/Project based courses for continuing FD, HD and PhD students also be completed by
10th July 2020. A list of Seminar/Project based courses are given in Annexure A.

For all other courses, continuing students will be awarded GA (Grade Awaited) as has been
announced in the Vice-Chancellor’s communication on 3rd June 2020. The nature of evaluation
for these courses will be announced after 15th July 2020.

The above recommendation if approved shall be announced to faculty and students accordingly.
