Neolithic Revolution Advertisement

Individually, you will create an advertisement to convince early humans to join or reject
the Neolithic Revolution. You can be creative in how you share this information, using a
newspaper, magazine, flyer, or other type of ad. Use the information you learned in the Diamond
article, podcast notes, and example ad we examined in class for ideas and information, but make
sure that you put all of the information into your own words and images unless you quote and
cite the source. Follow the checklist below carefully to make sure that you include all of the
requirements. Remember, this should be a persuasive document, so use clear, specific examples
and reasons for or against the Neolithic Revolution’s impact on humans, don’t just list the facts
but make it clear which side you support and why.

Your advertisement must include:

 Identify least two reasons people wanted to transition from hunting and
gathering to farming (5 points each)
 Describe at least two ways the move to agriculture made food more/less
reliable and increased populations (10 points each)
 Describe at least three ways the early cities laid foundations for complex
civilizations
(10 points)
 Create at least one image that illustrates how the Neolithic Revolution
changed human lives (10 points)
 Use persuasive arguments for or against the Neolithic Revolution (20
points)

Verb Guide:

 Describe-give details about the events/people/facts
