ABSTRACT

According to statistics, it is estimated that there are between 143 million and 210 million
orphans worldwide, this is according to the recent study of United Nations International
Children's Emergency Fund in UNICEF. Everyday there are 5,760 more children
become orphans and every 2.2 seconds another orphan ages out with no family to
belong to and no place to call home. This is one of the major problems that our society
is facing right now. The study was conducted to evaluate and examine the well-being of
the children living in Residential homes here in Davao City, how are they being taken
care as well as to discover their way of living given that most of them doesn't have any
families. The researchers used convergent parallel research design to conducts the
quantitative and qualitative elements in the same phase of the research process,
weighs the methods equally, analyzes the two components independently, and
interprets the results together. In this investigation, adapted survey questionnaire which
was validated by our license psychometrician. The statistical tools used is mean in
which it refers to the average or mean that is used to find the central possibilities of the
