Shortage of electricity

Nowadays there are lot of power cuts in the areas. This is mainly due to
the shortage of electricity produced. In India there are still a lot of villages
that suffer from electricity problem. A village is considered electrified if it
possesses basic electrical infrastructure and 10% of its homes have access
to power. However, nearly one-fifth of India’s rural households (around
31 million) still remain in acute darkness.
Main problem of electricity in India
 Gap between generation and demand.
 High loss in power systems.
 Lack of latest technology.
 Very less focus on energy mix with renewable(RES).
 Lack of Demand Side Management(DSM) Strategies.
 Power quality issues.
Ways to improve electricity problem in India
 Use of renewable energy sources like solar energy, wind energy,
water energy.
 Government should provide subsidy for the solar panels so that
everyone can afford it.
 People should also have to focus on that the electricity is a
renewable source as coal is a renewable source, so people also
have to be aware about this situation.
 To stop electricity wastage, turn off fans and other electrical
appliances when not in use.
 From the engineering point of view this is the most problematic as
we require a lot of energy for all our works.
