By using the principles of scientific management Blockbuster can efficiently improve its
production. Quantitative approach not only contributes towards manager's decision
making but also put the right person to the right job which dramatically improves the
production efficiency. Thus Blockbuster can easily have a competitive advantage by
satisfying their customers’ needs efficiently and effectively through this approach.

frontline store supervisors manage their employees? Would Mr. Keyes and other top
managers need to understand OB? Why and why not?

Organizational Behavior is the field which studies the human behavior in an
organizational settings and the relationship between the employee’s behavior and the
organization. By knowing this, a manager will be better equipped with the knowledge
and insights of his own employees and ultimately his organization. By being
knowledgeable about his employee’s behavior, a manager would then have a better grip
on how to handle and manage his employees effectively and efficiently. 
Yes, because indeed knowing about your employees, specifically their behavior is very
useful. It would help in keeping the workforce highly efficient which would ultimately
make their employees to reach their true potential. This would help in the betterment of
the organization because the success of a company starts by the people in the
company.

They have all the important values, a successful organization might have. They greatly
value their employees and community. They not only facilitate their employees but also
their customers. By effectively utilizing their employees and corporate resources, they
provide immense amount of benefits to the community they serve. They not only make
sure to create and maintain environment of respect and inclusion for their customers
and employees, but also focus on fun teamwork and exceptional customer service.

with his statement? Explain.

Yes, I agree with Mr. Keyes statement that it doesn't matter what kind of product or
service you specialized in selling, the only thing everything comes down to is your ability
to understand the needs of your customers and satisfying those needs in a way which is
better than your competitors. His statement highlights the most important part of doing a
successful business because customers are the most important and central part of any
retail/business. Creating value for customers and building strong relations with them is
and should be the prime goal of every organization in order to capture value from the
customers in return.
