          SUBJECT : 1st Progress Report on Alleged Robbery with Intimidation

2. This pertains to the previously reported incident of Robbery with


Intimidation happens on October 23, 2019 at about 8:30PM which was lately
reported at about 11:00PM at Block 22, Lot 45, Phase 1, Sta Lucia Pinewood
Subdivision, Asin Road, Baguo City on complaint of the following victims namely;
Ruth Barlas Garlit, 50y.o, married, businesswoman and resident of the
aforementioned address and Security Guard Jayson Budiongan of the Supreme
Shield Security Agency, stay-in guard within the subdivision against still unidentified
five (5) malefactors all armed with unknown calibre of a pistol handgun.

3. On October 24, 2019 of the morning, the undersigned assisted by


the Chief City Investigative and Detective Management Unit PMAJ PABLO
EMMANUEL NEAD together with the personnel of CIU conducted ocular
investigation at the place of incident wherein a walk through within the bushy part of
the suspected entry point of the suspects was conducted as well as interviewed the
victims.

4. During interview with Guard Budiongan, the latter disclosed that he


is detailed as roving guard with a tour of duty from 7:00PM to 7:00AM and he just
patrolled the vicinities of the subdivision using an issued motorcycle of which upon
reaching the place of incident, he stopped at the guard house situated across
Garlit’s house and seated for a moment.
5. As the guard Budiongan was sitting, Garlit came out from the gate
of her house to let her pet dog pee, of which the latter greeted the guard and after
peeing her pet dog, Garlit was about to enter the gate when suddenly a male
wearing ski mask with black jacket and darker color pant and armed with a pistol
handgun came out within the bushes at the back of the guard house and at gunpoint
ordered guard Budiongan in tagalog dialect to quote “dapa” which the guard did for
fear of getting hurt while Garlit who was surprised on the turn of event immediately
ducked infront of her gate while covering her head with her hands.

6. There and then, suspect approaches the guard and immediately


rolled down the wearing roll-up bonnet of the guard to cover the latter’s eyes and
then took the guard’s issued revolver handgun, a calibre 38 model Squires Bingham
with serial number 35129, loaded with five (5) live ammunitions including his issued
handheld radio model MYN with serial number MYTPH700U00608 and his ordinary
cell phone.

7. At this point, the guard heard several footsteps approaching Garlit’s


location while the suspect who took the guard’s firearm was assisted by another
suspect in hogtieing the guard using a plastic straw strap as well as putting a
masking tape on his mouth and afterwards carried him in transferring the same to a
bushy area beside the guard house.

8. As narrated by Garlit, when she saw the 1 st armed suspect


appeared and pointed his pistol handgun to her and guard Budiongan, she
immediately seated and covered her head with her palm.

9. With this, as guard Budiongan was lying on the road being disarmed
by the 1st suspect, another four (4) male suspects with half of their faces covered
with black cloth appeared from the bushes beside of the cemented fence of Garlit’s
house which is just a few feet away from where Garlit was seated and all armed with
a pistol handgun.

10. At this juncture, 2nd suspect aided the 1st suspect in restraining
the guard afterwards the 2nd suspect watch over Garlit while 3rd, 4th and 5th suspect
went inside the house and hogtied the niece and auntie of Garlit placing them in the
basement of the 4 storey house.

11. After hogtieing Garlit’s relatives, the later was then accompanied by
2nd suspect in entering the house where she was hogtied using a packing tape and
afterwards, four (4) suspects searched the bedrooms of the house looking for loot
where they discovered an steel vault kept inside of the divider closet located at the
4th floor of the house.

12. Immediately, one of the suspect ordered Garlit to open the same
which she did for fear of getting hurt. As a result, suspects carted the valuable
content of the vault such as jewelleries and two (2) watches which she estimated the
amount as less than Php 640,000.00.
13. Not contented, suspects carted the three (3) cell phones and laptop
including the cash money of Garlit with an estimated total amount of less than Php
93,000.00.

14. Prior leaving the scene, one of the suspects put a piece of cloth in
Garlit mouth and taped the same using a masking tape of which suspects took the
ignition key of the guard’s motorcycle and used the vehicle of Garlit described as
white Hyundai Tucson with conduction sticker MO-5234 as their gate away in fleeing
the scene.

15. Fortunately, Garlit managed to free herself with the help of her
niece that prompted her to assist and removed the guard’s tied hands and ordered
him to call for help.

16. As disclosed by Garlit, all of the suspects were armed with short
firearm wherein one of them is wearing a black shirt with camouflage short pant
paired with slippers while four (4) of the suspects are wearing dark color upper
garment with black pant paired with boots, and all of them in brown complexion with
estimated ages of early 30’s to middle 20’s where all of them fluently speaks in
Ilocano and tagalog dialect.

17. Moreover, the gate away vehicle of the suspect’s was also
discovered by the responding guard abandoned inside of the subdivision with and
estimated distance from the crime scene of more or less two (2) kilometres away.

18. During walk through at the area believed to be the entry point of
the unidentified suspects, a disturbed portion of the bushes was noticed leading to
the elevated portion going to the road of the subdivision.

19. Additionally, from the area where the vehicle was recovered, a
disturbed portion of the bushes was also observed leading to the unfenced
circumferential road believes to be the entry and exit point of the fleeing suspects.

20. On the part of the responding SOCO personnel led by PMAJ


JULIET ALBON, lifted latent prints at the crime scene were smudges.

21. Follow up investigation is still on going and additional progress


report to follow.
