 Small Business Financing – Eligibility:


◦ Job Creation projects – Can borrow $25,000 per job
◦ For-profit small businesses w/ 100 FTE’s or less
◦ Luzerne County
◦ Have 50% match financing – 10% equity; 40% bank
◦ Excludes commercial and retail business*

 Small Business First


• Up to $200,000 (50%) for qualified small businesses
• Fixed interest rate of 4.25% for up to 15 years
• Applicant must have 100 FTE’s or less worldwide
• Eligible applicants include: manufacturing, industrial,
construction, energy, hotels, recyclers, tech-based
companies, and other non-commercial small
businesses
• Loans are based on job creation = $25,000 per job
• Eligible uses: Land, building, equipment and working
capital
This Small Business Financing Program is brought to You through a Partnership between
the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber and CAN DO Business Financing

 First Industries Fund


◦ Up to $200,000 (50%) available for tourism or agricultural
projects
◦ Interest rate of 5% for up to 15 years
◦ Company must have under 100 FTE’s at FEIN level
worldwide
◦ Eligible applicants include: various agriculture, farmers
markets, agricultural energy, and tourism related
businesses
◦ Loans are based on job creation = $25,000 per job
◦ Eligible uses: Land, building, equipment, and working
capital
This Small Business Financing Program is brought to You through a Partnership between
the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber and CAN DO Business Financing

 Community Economic Development


◦ Competitive loan funds priced at 2% for loans in
distressed communities or Keystone Opportunity Zones,
in the amounts up to $100,000
◦ Company must be valuable to the economic well-being of
the community and must go through a letter of intent
process with the state and CAN DO
◦ Applicant eligibility is based on location and economic
need
◦ Must have less than 100 FTE’s. Retail and Commercial
ELIGIBLE
◦ Eligible uses: land, building, machinery, equipment and
working capital
This Small Business Financing Program is brought to You through a Partnership between
the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber and CAN DO Business Financing

 Pollution Prevention Assistance Account


◦ Loans of up to 75% or $100,000 for qualifying small
businesses with less than 100 FTE’s that are purchasing
and installing equipment that results in less pollution or
energy efficiency
◦ Interest rate of 2% and no job creation requirements
◦ Flexible terms of up to 10 years

 Bank will more than likely require 20-25% equity


into a deal – a benefit of combining SBF which
reduces the equity requirement
 Often requires sharing of collateral – must be
sufficient value to secure both creditors – SBF can
take subordinate lien positions.
