Performance Task 1

Answer each of the following in not more than 5 sentences

1. Choose a word that describe ‘risk’ and explain why did you choose that word to describe
‘risk’
PERIL – is a term used to indicate the possibility of danger, risk, hazard, or loses. A
subject to hurt or harm something. I choose the word peril because it is virtually
synonymous with the word risk. Peril is a potential factor that can cause uncertain loss or
danger and can hinder the achievement of goal.

2. Identify at least two risks that you are now facing

a). is it manageable or not? If not how do you face it?
b). if yes how do you manage the risk?
SIGNAL STRENGTH (manageable) – we live in rural area surrounded by mountains
and hills that tends to be father from cell towers which occur to have a weaker signal. It is
hard to find a stable signal in order to access the internet. There is a specific time that the
signal gets stable. So in order to manage this risk I have two options, the first one is I
tend to wake up 12 midnight to get a better and stable signal because in this particular
time the signal is a lot faster. The second option is to find a higher area for a stable
connection so I go to the hills from time to time to check if there are tasks or assignments
in our Google Classroom.
DISTRACTION (manageable) – Since we’re using Google Classroom it requires
opening mobile device to access the information or material used in this subject. So while
waiting for the connection to get stable and obtain the material, I tend to go to other
applications. This is what we call multitasking which is a mistaken because it losses our
focus on studying. In order to manage this risk I access the ‘focus mode’ of the digital
wellbeing app which is the device tool of my phone to choose the required app in
studying and temporarily close the app that may distract me. It is important to manage the
right application to avoid any distraction.
3. What are the insight from the lesson today?

The core point of this lesson is to help us learn how to identify and manage risk that may
occur overtime. To understand the threats and opportunities that may hinder or help us to
achieve our objectives. To familiarize the principles of risk management that may help us
understand the importance of it in the organizational activities. It is very significant to study
this kind of lesson in order for us to easier foresee the obstacles or the impact of a certain
event that may cause misfortune on achieving our objectives or goals.
