A Narrative about Juan Scott.
I am writing this because Paul failed to turn in his assignment. The life story of Juan
Scott is a demonstration of true spirit of hardwork, resilience, and determination. A spirit that
defines the ability to work from a humble background to royalty. Throughout his life, Juan has
demonstrated the ability to successfully navigate through the challenges that face humanity to
emerge victorious. He first earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Troy
University in Ft. Walton Beach in Florida and later a Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse
School of Religion with emphasis in Psychology of Religion and Pastoral Care and Counseling.
He has been in successful marriage for 25 years with Ramona Turner Scott and have been
blessed with two children, Grayson and Celeste. Juan currently resides in Lawrenceville, GA and
is a native of Florence, SC.
Other than being an accountant, Juan also prides himself in being a certified coach,
trainer, facilitator, and speaker with the John Maxwell team and brings more than 20 years of
stellar leadership and management experience from both the private sector and the federal
government departments as a captivator and a motivator. Besides, he has successfully led and
managed different areas of Accounting, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management, Public
Health, Emergency Operations, Process Reengineering, and Human Resources. He spent 7 active
years in the United States’ Air Force Base Florida as an Inventory Management Specialist. In
1994, Juan was honorably discharged from the Air Force and began an Air Force Reserve
Career. In 1995, he joined the Alcan Cable as the cost and Inventory Accountant performing
financial and process audits across the United States and Canada. Juan and his wife also opened
and operated an art gallery and enjoyed success as entrepreneurs.
In 2006, Juan was reappointed as a chaplain and stationed at Robins Air Force Base in
Georgia, Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, and was
also appointed at Wing Chaplain in Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia in August
2019. Juan has also served in the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Springfield,
Virginia between August 2012 and October 2014 and rose through the ranks to become the head

of support team for Operation Enduring Freedom. His work prowess at NGA and Defense
Intelligence Agency (DIA) led to his full-time chaplaincy being extended for both NGA and
DIA. He did this diligently until he returned to his federal position at the CDC in November
2014.
Between 2005-2008, Juan got an opportunity to serve as a Senior Financial Analyst for
Lockheed Martin before leaving to join the prestigious role at the Center for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) in 2008 as supervisor in Logistics Management specialist. He was privileged
to serve in this role until 2011 where he was involved in directing and deploying medical
countermeasures to more than 62 project areas across the United States in support of the H1N1
pandemic. Consequently, he was responsible for the management of $4 billion in medical
countermeasures. In 2012, Juan rose to the rank of Chief of Readiness and managed the vaccine,
Push Package and Biomed programs for CDC. He also worked with US Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) in April 2015 in the provision of comprehensive analysis and business
process modeling support to the office of Human Resources (OHR) at Tiger Team Initiative. The
primary objective of Juan in this initiative was focused on establishing policies ad streamlining
processes around OHR’s classification process and Agency’s FDA’s Accelerated Staffing
Timeline (FAST) hiring model. In this role, he also served as a key advisor to the OHR Director.
During his entire career, Juan created and managed relationships at various levels with
both internal and external stakeholder including senior level officials to resolve project related
concerns and to provide innovative solutions to project issues. In February 2016, Juan was
promoted to the position of Acting Director (GS-15) of the Human Resources Service Division
(HRSD) responsible for leading and managing recruiting and staffing for FDA. In August 2016,
Juan was again promoted to the position of Director of HRSD where he leads a team of 143 staff
members located in Bethesda, San- Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. In November
2019, Juan was appointed as the Director of Data Management in the Human Capital
Management Division. In May 2018, Juan and Ramona launched Rekindle-Refresh Marriage
Retreats, a ministry which is dedicated to making good marriages great though enhancing of
relationships through communication, education, and exercises.
