CHILDREN’S FUTURE

Parents are the most important actor to our life. Parents are teaching us so many things that
we didn’t know before. With their experience, it feels like they know everything in this world.
However, there are some parents that use their experience to forcing their children to be exactly like
what they want. It is not acceptable, because everyone had their own dream and no one can decide
their future. Children really need their parents support and help, they depend on it. However, parents
should stop deciding their children’s future.

First, the world has change. We must admit that parents have live longer than us and have a
bunch of experience. But they have to admit too, that the world they living today is totally change.
Nowadays, people now can get anything just by touching a hunk of tech that we called smartphone.
Every aspect on this world has change, and there is no exception to education. Now we can get a lot
of information from the outside of the school. And some parents can’t accept the reality that now we
can get educated without even going to school. Nowadays source of information are no longer limited.
We can get it from the internet and even a game. We do believe that parents have more experience.
But they have to admit that their era is over and not all of their experience can be applied again on this
new era. I remember when I was 10 years old and my mother saw me playing console game. She told
me to study harder because next week is a final exam for me. I do obey my mother. But what’s funny
is the fact that now I realized that almost all of my English skills are from game, song and movie. I
never go to specific English course my entire life.

Parents should stop deciding their children future is because they don’t really know what their
children really wants. They want their children to be the best and indeed they know what’s best for
their children. However, what best on parent perspective aren’t always fit with their children. Their
children maybe didn’t know what is best for them. But they are the one who really know what they
want. What’s best from parent perspective may not reliable anymore because once again, the world
has change. Nowadays doctor is not the most wanted job anymore. But don’t get me wrong, there still
many people that really want to be a doctor. But I’m not sure if it’s what they really want. Because
there are some parents that still believe in the old stereotypes, like if you are study on science class
that mean you are the smartest person on the planet earth and if you study on the social class that
mean you are the dumbest person alive. I will always remember when my mom wanted me to be on
the science class. But deep down in my heart I know what I really want. So at that time I choose to
stay on the social class and slowly but surely my mother start to understand and always supporting me
until now.
 It’s true that parents have more experience than us and it is so true that we have to obey our
parents more than anything. We have to admit that parents have more experience and have live longer
than us and we do obey them no matter what. However, Parents should not use their experience to
deciding their children’s future. Because the clothes that really fit and comfortable to someone can
have different feel when you wear it on you. parents should use their experience to protect their
children, teaching their children what is good and what is bad, and make sure with that experience
parents can avoid their children from making the same mistakes like they did in the past. Children
must obey their parents. However, that doesn’t mean children have to agree with all suggestion their
parents gave. Children have to follow their dream and not their parents dream. If children have
different vision with their parents, of course they have to try to make their parents understand. But the
parents should understand their children first, not the other way around.
