INTRODUCTION

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is a common

material used in piping system especially
in Malaysia. PVC is so common in piping
system as it covered most of all around
piping system including housing pipe. Not
just that, PVC also playing most part in
building and construction site as it is also
involved in flooring, wall covering and even
roofing.
WHAT IT IS MADE FROM ?

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is basically

solid plastic made from vinyl chloride,
it is a polymer that is made flexible
and softer by adding phthalates and
contain some chemical like
Bisphenol A(BPA).

MANUFACTURING PROCESS
EXTRUSION

 The raw material is inserted into the extruder via a

hopper and a gravimetric or volumetric control system.
 Inside the extruder barrel the material is heated to a
melting point of about 200 ° C by electricity and friction
in a screw system.
 The liquid material is pushed through the cavity, called
the dead head and thus formed into a pipe.
 The pipe is then calibrated to correct the measurement
in the vacuum box and then cooled with water in the
spray box.
 Extrusion is an ongoing process and pipes can
basically be produced to infinite length.
 At the end of the production line the pipe is cut long
and socketed or rolled according to the intended use.
PVC RECYCLING
BENEFITS OF
 Advanced mechanical recycling
systems

 Volume of recyclable PVC waste

available

 Recycled PVC use help meet

resource-efficiency objectives

 Reduced emission and landfill

requirements
