What is Operation Management?

Operation Management is the management of the process that transform inputs material,
the customers ideas, needs and wants to output goods and services. And also it contains
planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling all the resources that have to produce as
goods and services that added value for the customer. As the operation management is good
the output goods and services will be also capable then the customers will come to the
organization. If the organization's operation management is good their goods and services
will be better than other competitors. The customers also wants the good services and the
goods that full fill their needs and wants.The operation management is as well as the process
that transform the materials to finished goods and services efficiently and use labor reduce
as much as possible and produce the qualified products and services also to gain the
maximize profit for the organization.For example, if the organization makes soy milk, the
operations management require to do this things buying raw materials for soy milk, hiring
and training the workers, prepare for the location and layout for the factory, and purchasing
tools and equipments that require to produce soy milk. Another example is the restaurant
should ready their table if the tables are broken or something they should repair it quickly if
there is not enough table the customers will move to other restaurants . Also at the hotel
services when the guests are come they take the guest's language or bags to their room,
inform eating time and others thing that satisfied the customer's needs and wants, that are
showing that the hotel have good at operation management.

Why Operation Management is important?

Operation Management is making better the overall productivity process of the organization
and also it persist the business unusual and make available to creat new products and
services for this reason the operation management is important. Furthermore the operation
management is in a position to make the advantage of its holdings such as labor, raw
materials , money and other resources. The operation management help to the success of
any organization and also the organization can get many benefits from the smooth

operation management.In organization if the operation is not good the process of the
organization will be in a messy situation because of the poor operation management the skill
full employee can leave from the organization and the customer also will not come that
restaurant or others. Furthermore the operation is important not only for an organization
but also in our daily work. Some of the unknown business become success because they
transform their process design, product design and other operational management design
that can make become more customers and to become success that organization between
the competitors. The operation management can help an organization implement strategic
objectives, planning, controlling, strategic process and more. In Myanmar, right now there is
issues about Irrawaddy dolphins the rare spices that are become extinct because of the
electro fishing the dolphins are dead. The government should operate manage the issues
well let it not get worse.

Why we need to learn Operation Management?

We should need to learn the operation management because as we are business student we
need to know what is operation management, the functions and progress of operation
management, how affect the operation management to the organization and the importance
of the operation management for the organization. If you want to be a good manager you
also need to learn about operation management.Also even we are not business student we
should know about the operation management because it is as well important in our
environment and daily work, we need to operating the process. In my opinion, when I watch
television some of the TV channels are sometime poor at operation management for
example when they have to show the new episode but they wrongly show the old episode
and sometime the program title is wrong with the other program because of this poor
operating the customer will change to another channel. Another example of poor operation
management is in this pandemic period the government give the basic food to the poor
family the grassroots without a regular income but in some township the ward chairman or
ward administrator are not collect all the grassroots households list so some of the family do
not get the support basic food that is why we all should learn what is operation
management. As the operation management is important for all of us. Because of the

government has poor operation management we all effect it when the road are bad they
repair at the day when the people are moving around because of that situation the people's
transportation are delay, even if normal the place like Yangon has always facing the traffic
jam when they repair the road the traffic jam become more worse. In other countries they
repair their road bridges at midnight when the people are fall asleep so it's not interrupt the
transportation at the day. And sometime when I go to restaurant they rehabilitation of canal
in front of their restaurant at day so the customer are difficult to get around some of the
customer are don't like this situation and they move to other restaurant as the side of
restaurant they need to fix the when their shop is close. Some restaurants are service delay
we need to wait our food order for a long time, at some other restaurant they even have not
very much customer but we need to wait for a long time, the impatient customer who don't
want to wait so long are move to another restaurant . If there is something wrong with their
equipment they need to inform the customers if not they will be loss their customer.
Learning the operation management has many advantages that can help our daily life, work
and business can run well. Although there will be disadvantage but it will be a little learning
and know what is operation management id better than not knowing nothing about the
operation management.
