Eucalyptus is a fast growing tree which can grow up to 300 feet with smooth, whitish blue bark and
with green sickle shaped leaves. It also has large white or cream coloured flowers. This tree is native
to Australia and Tasmania, this tree has been exported to many areas, north and south of
Mediterranean and other parts of world in the late 19 th century.
Eucalyptus Globulus oil is a thin, colourless to pale yellow liquid with an intense fresh, camphorous
and woody aroma. The leaves and twigs of this tree are used for extracting eucalyptus oil using
steam distillation.
Eucalyptus oil has great antimicrobial and anti viral properties which helps in fighting respiratory
infection. It is expectorant and febrifuge which gives relief from fevers and coughs.
It a great analgesic, antirheumatic, pectoral and anti inflammatory which is beneficial as pain reliever
and reducing arthritis, muscular aches and pains.
Eucalyptus oil is an antiseptic and anti infectious oil which helps in treating infectious diseases.
Precautionary Advice:
Avoid usage during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Do a skin patch test before use.
How to use:
A wide range of diffusers are available based on their heating source (a candle or electric). Add water
to the tray of diffuser and add 2-5 drops of concentrated Eucalyptus essential oils or a blend of
different essential oil of your choice. Heat the diffuser which will disperse the molecules of the
essential oils into the atmosphere. Diffusers are designed for both room and vehicle use.
Inhalation:
Put 8-10 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil into a bowl of steaming hot water. Cover the head with
towel, which should be large enough to reach over the sides of the bowl. Keep the face 12 inch
(30cm) away from the water and shut both the eye. Inhale the steam through the nose, with each
inhalation lasting around 2-3 seconds. Repeat as needed but for no more than 5-10 min per session.
Simply put 1-2 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil onto a tissue or handkerchief and inhale through the
nose when required.
Pillow:
The concentrated Eucalyptus essential oil can be applied on pillows to assist breathing in cases of
respiratory infections. Simply place 1-3 drops of Eucalyptus essential oils on the corner or underside
of a pillow, away from the eyes. Alternatively put the Eucalyptus essential oil on a cotton ball or
tissue and tuck it inside the corner of pillow. Ensure that the oil is located in an area away from the
face, especially the eyes.
Boil 400 ml of water and put the steaming water a heat proof bowl. Add 5-10 drops of concentrated
Eucalyptus essential and place the bowl on the floor or on a heat proof surface ensure that it’s not
within the reach of children and pets. Close the doors and windows to keep the aroma molecules
inside.
Add 1-4 drops of undiluted Eucalyptus essential oil or 3-8 drops of diluted essential oil to your
regular bath. You can add dilute essential oil in your choice of carrier oil, milk, milk powder or any
other herbal bathing powder. Add this mixture to your regular bath tub or bucket and keep the door
closed to keep the aroma in the room.
For Pain relief, Sore and Swollen areas, Strain and sprain:
Compress:

dampen into the cup, collecting the essential oil onto the cloth. Squeeze out the excess water and

Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense essential oil has always been a part of alternative medicine practices all over the world.
Frankincense oil has been an integral part of Indian ayurvedic practices and is known for its incense
properties. It is also used as incense to clear negative energy and bring good fortune to both
business and home life. Frankincense is derived from Boswellia plant which is small, woody tree
which grows up to 25 feet high. It has sparse, small green leaves and small, waxy, white flowers with
yellow and orange centres. This plant is generally found dry mountainous regions of Africa and
Middle East. In India boswellia serrata variety of frankincense is found.
Frankincense essential oil is thin, colour less to pale yellow liquid with warm, sweet, balsamic, spicy,
incense like aroma. Frankincense oil is derived by steam distillation of frankincense resins which are
obtain from boswellia tree by slashing an incision, causing a tree to exude an opaque, whitish
yellowish resin which hardens naturally.
Some other medicinal properties of frankincense are anti bacterial and anti microbial which helps in
fighting cough, cold, bronchitis and nervous asthma. It is also anti septic in nature which helps in
treating skin infection, scars and wounds.
As the name itself suggest frankincense is mainly known for its incense which makes it most suitable
to be used as room fresher, deodoriser and incense sticks.

Geranium essential oil:
Geranium essential oil is native to South Africa although highest quality, perfumery grade oil is
obtained from islands of Madagascar. This Gerniaceae family plant has shapely, finely divided,
deeply cut leaves with clusters of small pink flowers. This rosy smelling oil is obtained by using
freshly cut young plant tops. The plant material can be left in the field to partially dried before
distillation, so the fragrance is more intense. The final aroma largely depends on age of the plant,
the older plant has lemony rose aroma while the younger plants have more rose type aroma.
Geranium essential oil is a pale yellow to pale green liquid with a sweet, soft, flowery rose aroma.
This oil is obtained from steam distillation of dried leaves and stocks of young pelargonium tree.
Geranium essential oil is analgesic and spasmolytic in nature which reduces muscular pain and
spasm. It also has circulatory properties which help in regulating blood flow.

Lavender is a midsummer harvested plant which grows at higher altitude of over 2800 feet is native
to France and Western Europe and best known for its peculiar aroma. A shrubby evergreen bush
with sliver, spike shaped, greyish green leaves and flower in various shades of lavender to purple on
top of tall, stiff stems. Today lavender is grown in many countries and each version has a different
properties and colours. Using lavender flower for cleaning and bathing was very common in the
ancient Greeks, Persians and roman era.
Lavender essential oil is colourless to yellow tinged liquid with a fresh, soft, floral, herbaceous
aroma. Only the flowering tops of lavender are used for steam distillation for extracting the oil.
Lavender essential oil has great skin rejuvenating properties which helps in treating acne, pimples
and stress related eczema. It also has great de tanning, skin lightening and anti-ageing properties
and can also be used for its floral aroma. It is also useful as an insect deterrent.

water. Use 2-3 drops of prepared mix for each application and massage the scalp. Keep the solution
on scalp over night for better results.
Lemongrass essential Oil
Lemongrass plant is a common household plant and is used in cooking, an integral ingredient in
Indian herbal tea from ancient time in Indian subcontinent. It is also known for its medicinal
properties and it acts as a great room freshener in Indian homes. Lemongrass plant is perennial grass
with long thin leaves, usually growing to around 3 feet in height. Farmer in India grows it,
commercially and also it is planted in home gardens for personal consumption.
Lemongrass essential oil is a pale yellow to golden yellow liquid with an herbaceous, earthy, citrus
aroma. This oil is extracted using steam distillation of leaves and stalks of this grass.
Lemongrass essential oil helps in complete skin rejuvenation and is very effective in treating acne
and pimples. It also helps in insect bites and can also be used as an insect repellent.

Sweet orange essential oil:
Sweet orange originated in India from where it was sent to Europe by Portuguese sailors who further
carried it to South America in the 15 th century. Orange tree grows to around 25 feet in height with
dark green leaves, fragrant white flowers and large, bright, round orange fruits.
Sweet orange essential oil is yellow to orange liquid with fresh, sweet, fruity, citrus aroma. It is
extracted from peel or rind of orange fruit using steam distillation. The oil contains several vitamins,
minerals and enzymes and is widely used in the food, drink and confectionary industry, as well as in
perfumery.
Sweet orange essential oil also helps in nervous constipation and nervous anxiety because of its
stomachic properties. Sweet orange oil can also be used for detoxifying the body and mood uplifting.
With sweet fruity aroma it is used as a natural deodoriser and can also be used as a natural cleaner.

Peppermint essential oil
Botanical Name: Mentha Piperita
Description
Peppermint plant is a perennial plant which has small, highly aromatic leaves along with spikes of
small pinkish mauve flowers. Originating from the USA, where the cultivation of peppermint began
in the 1850s the plant is now cultivated around the world in countries like India, china, England, Italy,
Russia, etc. peppermint plant is being widely used in mouth freshening products because it contains
menthol that avoids bad breath.
Peppermint essential oil is colorless to pale yellow liquid that has a fresh, green, minty aroma with a
faint peppery note which is extracted from the fresh or partially dried plant through steam
distillation process.
Peppermint essential oil is the best decongested as it contains menthol that helps in sinus
congestion, sinusitis. The minty and fresh aroma of the peppermint essential oil is also helpful for
overcoming mental exhaustion, tension, physical exhaustion, fatigue and apathy.
Peppermint essential oil is very good oil for treating the skin problem such as acne and pimple
because it fights against various bacteria causing it. It is also anti viral and antiseptic in nature.

Morocco, Tunisia.
Rosemary essential oil is a colorless to pale-yellow, slightly green-tinged liquid which has a fresh
camphor-like, green, woody and herbaceous aroma. The oil is extracted from the leaves, twigs and
flowers of rosemary plant through steam distillation process.
Rosemary is the plant that is known as a plant that can enhance memory.
Rosemary essential oil helps is reliving muscular aches and pain, muscular weakness, headache,
because of its analgesic properties. Rosemary also helps in respiratory conditions, sinus congestion
as it acts as a decongestant.

Botanical name: Cananga Odorata
Description:
The tree of Annonacease plant family is native to Southeast Asia but is now grown majorly in the
island of Madagascar and nearing countries. The tree grows up to 60 feet in height with drooping
branches carrying clusters of large, golden, yellow, star-shaped flowers. Only the flower of the plant
is used for oil extraction thus the tree is cut short to about 6 feet for easily hand picking the flowers.
Flowers are harvested throughout the year and only the matured red flowers are handpicked in
morning and distilled immediately.
Ylang Ylang essential oil is pale yellow to deeper yellow liquid with rich, sweet, soft, floral aroma. The
oil is extracted using steam distillation of flowers of the tree. The ylang ylang essential oil is
extracted in phases based on the time of their extraction. The best quality and aroma oil is extracted
in the first few hours of extraction and then the intensity of aroma and quality of oil deteriorates
with time of distillation and forms second and third grade of essential oils.
The best grade of Ylang ylang essential oils is part of some of the most expensive perfumes and
Ylang ylang oil has a reputation as aphrodisiac.
Ylang ylang essential oil is antiphlogistic and anti inflammatory which helps in reducing swelling and
inflammation and also acts as a pain reliever. Ylang ylang also helps in reducing spasms and also
