Task Description:
GCCFM seeks a consultant to support its efforts on knowledge management and communications. He or she
will work under the supervision of the GCCFM Knowledge Management Officer. Applicants must have strong
written skills in English. Duration #58; 40 days, with continued contract into the next fiscal year based on
performance and fit. Terms of Reference BACKGROUNDThe Fund Management Unit within the Climate
Change Group (GCCFM) is a “one stop shop” for the Bank’s Forest and Land Use Funds; Results-based Climate
Funds TCAF, CPF, Ci-Dev; Global Environment Facility (GEF), Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Montreal Protocol
(MP) WB operations. The Unit manages the implementation of these programs, the donor relations,
mobilizes other sources of finance and implements synergies across funds. POSITIONGCCFM seeks a
Knowledge and Communications consultant to support GCCFM’s efforts on knowledge management and
communications. He or she will work under the supervision of the GCCFM Knowledge Management Officer.
Duration #58; 40 days with continued contract into the next fiscal year based on performance and fit. DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop high quality content for websites and publications, including case studies,
“lessons learned”, and infographics, Capture knowledge from meetings, events and workshops.Organize
BBLs, workshops and South-South Knowledge Exchanges, overseeing their successful deliveryManage the
delivery of annual reports. Assist in implementation of unit knowledge management and communication
strategies.Assist with other tasks as required.SELECTION CRITERIA - Master's degree in Knowledge
Management, Communications, Environment, Energy, Natural Resources Management, International
Relations, or other relevant field with at least two years of experience and a solid understanding of issues
related to knowledge management, communications, climate change, and development.Proven writing and
editing skills, with a strong command of English and an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct, and
lively style essential. Strong oral and written skills in French and/or Spanish desirable.In-depth knowledge
and understanding of project management concepts as they relate to the implementation of complex,
multifunctional projects.Solid knowledge of and demonstrated practical experience in the design and
implementation of various knowledge management and communications approaches, tools and
methodologies in the context of climate change and development. Strong conceptual and analytical skills
with the ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze diverse information from multiple sources to draw
conclusions and provide recommendations.Strong interpersonal and influencing skills including ability to
promote strong collaboration and facilitate and achieve consensus with MDB and other partners, clients, and
colleagues in a multicultural environment.Initiative and drive for results with ability to operate
independently, pay attention to detail, and prioritize and deliver assignments on schedule.Strong diplomatic,
interpersonal, and teamwork skills; demonstrated client orientation; sensitized in working in a diverse and
multicultural environment.
