I. Description
On S series models, a “Line Pattern” has been added for “manual Uni-D / Bi-D adjustment” , at “Head
Alignment” (Parameters stored in media setting banks of control panel).
To access this new function, use the following control Panel Menu :
- [Media Setup] > [Customize Settings] > [Head Alignment] (for Rip Settings or Custom Media)
(The alignment menu is different for Dual Head printer models e.g S506x0/S706x0)

This new pattern is used for line alignment in low resolution mode (under 6pass, it’s depends on media
type).
2. Explanation
Difference between “Block Pattern” and “Line Pattern” is described below :

*As these two patterns (Block & Line) are using different dot size, the result of the adjustment becomes
different as well.. Example : At first, customer adjusts #4 by Block Pattern, then after, customer prints Line
Pattern, #4 should NOT be straight. In our example, the customer will choose alignment line #5.
*Before performing a print head alignment, please set the media and paper edge plate correctly, the
media should be flat on platen, with heater adjusted to “Low” temperature and paper suction Lv adjusted
to “High”.

The first F/W version including “Line Pattern “is as below (available on Epson web support page).
