1.0 Overview of Loadable Driver for C364e Series,

C554e Series, bizhub 364e Series, and bizhub
554e Series
The Loadable Driver is a device driver for proximity card readers from RF Ideas, Inc. This Loadable
Driver supports models which use the USB CDC interface, such as the RDR-6381AK0 and RDR-
7581AK0. The MFPs covered by this document are the C364e Series (C364e/C284e/C224e), the C554e
Series (C554e/C454e), the bizhub 364e Series (364e/284e/224e), and the bizhub 554e Series
(554e/454e).

The Loadable Driver software is delivered as a single self-extracting executable file. The specific
process of installing the software varies, depending on the MFP family, but generally follows these steps:

1. Install Loadable Driver files onto PC.

2. Connect Loadable Driver Installation Media to PC.
3. Load Loadable Driver software onto Installation Media.
4. Connect Installation Media to MFP.
5. Install Loadable Driver onto MFP from Installation Media.

2.0 Prepare USB Memory Stick

To download the Loadable Driver to the MFP, a USB memory stick should be used. To save the Loadable
Driver to a USB memory stick, do the following:

1. Obtain a copy of the Loadable Driver. The file name is A5C10Y0-A831-G20-00.exe.

2. Connect a USB memory stick to the USB port on the PC. The USB memory stick should have the
following features:
 32 MB free.
 Less than 8 GB capacity.
 Without security protections.
 Formatted to Fat32.

3. Run the driver.

4. Copy the file to the USB memory stick by doing one of the following:
 Use the Browse button to select the USB memory stick and extract the file directly to it.
 Extract the file to a temporary folder and then copy the created file (named ‘ICC_LDR.tar)
to the memory stick.

5. Eject the USB memory stick when done. The USB memory stick is now ready to be used to install
the Loadable Drive software onto the MFP.

3.0 Disable Current Loadable Driver (if necessary)

If the MFP already has a Loadable Driver installed, it is recommended that the installed Loadable Driver
be disabled before installing this Loadable Driver.

To disable a Loadable Driver, do the following:

1. Enter Service Mode on the MFP. If necessary, consult an authorized service technician for help
on entering Service Mode.
2. Enter the Billing Setting.
3. Choose the “Management Function Choice” menu option.

4. Choose the Unset option.

5. Press the END button.
6. Press the EXIT button.

4.0 Install the Loadable Driver Software

The Loadable Driver software is installed on the MFP by connecting the USB memory stick to the MFP
and performing a firmware update. Follow the steps below:

1. Turn the main power of the MFP on. If authentication is enabled, log in.

2. Insert the USB memory stick containing the Loadable Driver software into a USB Port.

3. Enter Service Mode on the MFP. If necessary, consult an authorized service technician for help
on entering Service Mode.

4. Press the System 2 button; then press the Driver Install button on the 2 screen.

5. Press the Loadable Driver button; then press the Start button to start installing the data. A
confirmation message will appear.

6. Turn the MFP Off.

5.0 Configure MFP to use Loadable Driver

After the Loadable Driver is installed on the MFP, it is necessary to configure the MFP to use the
External Authentication device. Configuring the MFP is done in Service Mode.

1. Connect the Authentication Device to the MFP.

2. Enter Service Mode on the MFP. If necessary, consult an authorized service technician for help
on entering Service Mode.
3. Enter the Billing Setting.
4. Choose the “Management Function Choice” menu option.
5. Choose the “Authentication Device 2” menu.
6. Choose the “Card” option.
7. Press the END button.
8. Power the MFP OFF and then ON.

6.0 Confirm Firmware Update (optional)

This step is optional to verify that the firmware was updated successfully.

1. Enter Service Mode on the MFP. If necessary, consult an authorized service technician for help
on entering Service Mode.
2. Choose “Firmware Version.”
3. Navigate to “Loadable Driver.”
4. Confirm that the “Loadable Device Driver -1” displays: A5C10Y0-A831-G20-00
