Reaction Paper

First of all, what I can say is I really admired the way Manila looked back then more
than what it looks like now. Because me personally, I just have a big admiration for the
old century and the early years of our history, the history of our country, our nation the
Philippines. I mean let’s face it, Manila back in the day was way more beautiful and
classy than what it is right now. The fact that the video is black and white we can still
notice the beauty of Manila on that era. Not only the place too, but more importantly
the people back then who are in Manila, who lives and works around Manila you can
see in the video that life was truly more simpler back in the day compared to what we
have now. Nothing can compare to the Manila back in the early days in the 19 th century.
It truly is so beautiful it feels like a movie when you watch the old videos, the old
footage of life in Manila back then was so magical, the people who got to experience
that life, the early years of Manila was truly fortunate to have lived their days in that
time which is so timeless to see. If I can go back in time I would really go back there,
back in the early years of Manila so that I can truly experience what life was like back
then. That would be the most beautiful experience in my life. I know that most people
would rather choose to live now, in the present day because of technology and how
much more convenient life can be now but for me that’s not the case, if I was given a
chance to choose between two generations I will surely pick to live in the 19 th century.
Because for me technology isn’t everything and I truly believe that we can live without
it. If the people back then did who can say that we cannot. But that’s just me that is my
opinion and my choice if I ever was to be given one I would most likely choose to live
back in the day and I know I’m not the only one who will make the same choice. I wish
I can go back in time so I can experience this peaceful life without gadgets and harmful
technologies. Everything was taken for granted. We were once a rich country, now we
are just enjoying its former glory through black and whites.
