The content of the PLD / Training has direct application to my daily work?

Agree

The facilitator who presented the workshop was prepared, clear and engaging?

Agree

What was the most valuable aspect for you? and what were the key points?

The most valuable thing I took away from this PD was how to identify child neglect and abuse,
and how to respond and take action when we see neglect and abuse. I also found the discussion
on the process of gathering evidence and reporting cases to OT really helpful.

Which of the Teaching Standards does this Professional Learning Opportunity relate to?

Professional Learning
Use inquiry, collaborative problem-solving and professional learning to improve professional
capability to
impact on the learning and achievement of all learners.

Learning-focused Culture
Develop a culture that is focused on learning, and is
characterised by respect, inclusion, empathy, collaboration and safety.

What aspect of your practice has this learning opportunity helped you to reflect on?

It has helped me to be more aware of each child's home and living situation and it has helped
me to have more grace and compassion for the families and children I work with. Furthermore, it
has also highlighted to me the importance of having professional conversations with my team
about different things we hear and observe from the children and their families, as all this will
help us make informed decisions about how to keep those children safe.

As a result of your learning what changes will you make and how do you see these impacting on
the learning and development of your learners?

I will have more professional conversations with my colleagues about the things I observed,
even if they seem insignificant to me. This will not only help me develop my learning around
child protection but it will also help my colleagues, if they are gathering evidence for different
children. Furthermore, by speaking out what I observe, I am also contributing to the wellbeing
and best interests of the children in my centre.
What action do you need to take to make these changes? Consider whether this is a Teaching
Inquiry or a centre/ team Internal Evaluation.

I need to communicate this intention will my head teacher and centre manager so they can keep
me accountable. Furthermore, I may need to regularly reflect on my practice in this area.

Any other comments?

Overall, I really enjoyed this professional development course and it has contributed to my
ongoing learning on how to keep children safe and healthy.
