A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
Pinoy Devo formerly Hope in a Letter: Pinoy Devo
started in November 29, 2018 when Morgan
Harper Nichols, Founder of Her Binder Project — a
Los Angeles based online Christian Community
approved my request to start a Filipino based
community of writers and artists to provide free
devotionals for Filipinos. This desire started when I
joined Her Binder Project in May 2015 where I
wrote devotionals for women all over the world.
Now, this desire grows and in February 26, 2019,
twelve (12) Filipino volunteers joined the team
from different parts of the country and the world.
It consists of writers, digital artists and
photographers of different genders and ages. It is
my joy seeing creative people come together to
share Jesus to all Filipinos. Today, I pray that
thousands of Filipinos will join us to study each
month.

Daily Verse: Psalm 145:9
Daily Devo: It is ironic that majority of
those people you love are the same
people who could wound you the
most profoundly.
Is your relationship on the rock? Do
you still have trust issues with your
partner and you can’t live a day
without checking those messages in
his/her phone? Did your professor
embarrassed you in front of the class?
Or those failing grades or bunch of
college entrance exam results hurt
you the most and you can’t forgive
yourself for not doing your best after
giving your all? Or maybe you are just
having a hard time dealing with
people who used to hurt you.
Maybe you’ve asked God, “Is this pain
isn’t enough?” or “Am I too cruel not
to forgive?”
Let God tear down those walls around
your heart and kill those flock of
questions around your head because
this might hinder you to genuinely
forgive the offender and trust people
again. Always cling to hope whenever
you feel there is none and when
healing seems impossible, trust the
Healer. Maybe you’ve heard a lot of
people say, “Healing takes time” or
“God knows your pain and He loves
you” but you should love the thought
that the God who created you is also
concerned about you.
I've seen you struggle, I've seen you
hurting. But please, start forgiving and
continue loving.

Daily Verse: Mark 12:30-31
Daily Devo: The greatest
commandment stated in the Bible is
to love the Lord with all your heart,
with all your soul, with all your mind,
and with all your strength. And the
second is to love your neighbor as
yourself. As human being, it is
definitely hard for you to genuinely
love all the people around you.
Sometimes when you hear the name
of a certain person, all you could think
about is how you hated and dislike
him/her. And every time that
happens, remember these few things:
First, the moment that you have
Christ, you are given the ability to love
God, and love your neighbor as
yourself. It might be difficult yet it is
possible. Jesus has already loved you
with all of His life. He loved you first,
that’s why you can pour out love.
Second, loving God and your neighbor
is not merely an emotion, rather a
choice to make and an action to
perform. As a Christian, you are called
to extend God’s love to love Him back
and His people, and that makes an
evidence of the Christ that you
received. You only have to choose to
obey God over your emotions.
Third, loving God and your neighbor is
the greatest form of worship. In the
olden times, burnt offerings and
sacrifices are done for the atonement
of their sins. But if you follow these
commands, then you are doing
something greater than offerings and
sacrifices (verse 34). It is because if
you set your heart in loving the Lord
and your neighbors, then temptation
and sin has no room in you.
God’s love is so powerful that by
having it, nothing and no one can
hinder you to just love Him back and
the people around you with a genuine
kind of love.

Daily Verse: Ephesians 1:7
Daily Devo: “Cancelledt.”
This is one of the millennial jargons
that are frequently being used on
social media today. When someone
makes a mistake or doesn’t live up to
the invisible standard established by
the netizens, he or she instantly
becomes a target of the “cancel
culture”. He said something that has
offended you? Unfriend him. She
called you out and fought with you?
Block her.
Cancel, cancel, cancel.
You are constantly being stimulated
by self-love propagandas, teaching
you to not cross oceans for people
who won’t cross puddles for you. And
in a way, it will help you achieve a
healthy state of mind. Focusing on
one’s self and cutting toxic people in
your life will indeed save you from
stress and sudden emotional drops.
There is nothing wrong in making your
emotional health a priority. But as
Christians, shouldn’t you be listening
to His teachings and not of the world?
Jesus taught self-denial. His whole life
showed us selflessness. He poured
Himself empty for people who hurt
Him, criticized Him, and persecuted
Him. On the cross of Calvary, He
could’ve asked God to condemn His
murderers but instead He asked to
forgive them. Jesus was abandoned,
alone, grieving — and yet He showed
grace. He loves not because people
are lovely but because love is who He
is.
Encourage yourself to do the same. Be
kind even to the unkind. Respect even
those who are not deserving. Love not
because you are expecting love in
return but because God loved you
even when you are not worthy.
Cancel the cancel culture and just
love. Because in Christ, love is who
you are.

Daily Verse: Mark 12:31
Daily Devo: In Mark 12: 29-31 Jesus
answered, “The most important is,
‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the
Lord is one. And you shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your
mind and with all your strength.’ The
second is this: ‘You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.’ There is no
other commandment greater than
these.”
These two are the most important
commandments God wanted us to
obey yet the latter is always too
difficult to do. How will you love
people who badmouth you? How will
you love people who hurt you? How
will you love people who betrayed
you? Cursed at you, made wrong
accusations and stories against you?
How?
In Jesus’ time, He also encountered all
kinds of pain from His people.
Remember they mistreated Him yet
Jesus still treated them special. They
judged Him yet Jesus never judge
them back. They accused Him yet
Jesus didn’t respond or defend
Himself. They betrayed Him but Jesus
was still very accepting and forgiving
towards Peter. Worst is they nailed
Him on the cross but Jesus didn’t even
ask His Father for revenge even if He
could. You know why? It’s because He
loves His people so much like how He
loved Himself and His Father. Instead
of vengeance He poured out His love
even to those undeserving by dying
on the cross.
You see you can always choose to love
people. No matter how bad they are,
remember Jesus. Set aside your anger
or hatred and look up to the epitome
of unconditional love. Isn’t it
wonderful if we all love like Jesus?
Imagine people understanding each
other, forgiving, never talks bad,
never gets angry but are calm and
loving while facing such crisis. Isn’t it
amazing? Spread love. The world
needs it the most. Before acting folly
put yourself in the shoes of Jesus. Ask
yourself, “If it’s Jesus what will He
do?”

Daily Verse: Hebrews 12:2
Daily Devo: What is really the secret
to being relentless in love?
Lahat naman tayo napapagod. Lahat
tayo napupuno. And sometimes it’s
just so hard to continue to care, to
persevere in mending a broken
connection, or to rekindle a
relationship on the rocks.
How can you love like Jesus?
The answer is really simple. When
Jesus was being beaten and shamed,
and was suffering on the Cross, He
was thinking of you. He was thinking
of the souls who will be saved through
His sacrifice. His mind was fixed on
the joy that was set before Him.
And so, like reaching for any other
goal, let us look to the future. Let us
be inspired by the love of God that is
so great He endured the cross for us.
By faith, see the bright future ahead
of the temporary struggles. Focus on
the sweet ending God is preparing
and just love others generously and
sincerely. Love your work and friends
and partners with a heart blessed by
His grace.
To have unrelenting love, think of His
promises. Think of the wonderful
things God can do — restore and add
in our lives and those of others. As
you struggle, refuel your love
continuously so you can run the race
tirelessly and victoriously.

Daily Verse: 1 John 3:16
Daily Devo: Loving God and His people
would cost you everything – your
time, energy, money, pride, and even
your life. Are you willing to trade
these privileges in exchange of
something everlasting?
Today’s Bible verse commands you to
love genuinely by giving your life to
others, just as Jesus gave His life for
you. Giving your life to others doesn’t
necessarily mean dying physically for
their sake. This act of love also
involves praying for your enemies,
serving the next generation, sharing
your resources to the needy, etc.
It’s quite easy to love others who you
find lovable. However, genuine love is
beyond the border of your comfort
zone. You can always find countless
reasons for you to hate those people
who hurt you, but one reason is
enough for you to love them – the
unconditional love of God for you.
Jesus knew there will be times when
you will hurt Him by your actions, and
yet He still died on the cross for you
to experience His eternal love (see
Romans 5:8). You are worth dying for,
and so are the people around you. If
God can love you with all your
imperfections, you can love others
too.
Pause for a while and allow your heart
and your mind to grasp on this: There
is beauty in knowing that Someone
gave His life for you.

Daily Devo: Isa ka din ba sa napakunot ang noo noong

pinatawad ni Hesus ang magnanakaw na katabi Niya sa
krus? Dapat kasi pinabayaan nalang siya. Matapos niyang
magpakasama at manakit ng iba, kumuha ng hindi sa
kanya tapos isang sorry lang okay na? Ganon nalang ‘yun.
Pero alam mo ba, ang magnanakaw na ‘yun at ikaw ay iisa.
We are the counterpart of that thief today.

Masakit man pero, tayo siya.

We hurt God everyday by loving others more than Him.

Sinaktan mo Siya kapag inuuna ang pagcheck ng status mo
sa facebook kaysa sa pagbabasa ng bible, kapag may
madami ka pang ML time kesa sa prayer time, kapag mas
importante ang pagpaparank kesa sa paggrow deeply sa
salita Niya. Nasasaktan ang Diyos kapag pinipili mong
maglaba kapag sunday kesa sumimba o di kaya'y
magshopping kesa magtithes. But then when we repent,
God accepts us with all kindness, love and grace.

Ikaw ay produkto ng kapatawaran na nagmula sa Lord.

Kung wala ‘yun malamang sa kangkungan ka este sa hell ka
pupulutin, o baka wala ngang pumulot sa'yo kasi
napakadumi mo. Subalit pinulot ka ng Diyos, pinunasan at
ginawang bago. Inalagaan at pinoprotektahan na huwag na
muli pang madungisan.

So ano bang point ng devo for the day na ito?

Kapatid, gusto ni Lord na magpatawad ka gaya ng ginawa

Niya. Ipagpasa Diyos ang emosyon na nararamdaman mo
ngayon at yakapin ng kapayapaang ipagkakaloob Niya
sa’yo — kapayapaan na sa pagpapatawad lamang
matatagpuan. Huwag mong ipagkait sa iyong sarili ang
isang bagay na kaya namang ibigay ng Tatay mo sa langit.
Kung nakaya Niyang magpatawad sa gaya mo, maniwala
kang kaya mo din patawarin ang sarili mo at ang mga
nanakit sa’yo.

Daily Verse: Luke 7:47-48
Daily Devo: Love should be the
response to Jesus' forgiveness.
Overflowing love is the natural
response to forgiveness and the
appropriate consequence of faith.
But only those who realize the depth
of their sin can appreciate the
complete forgiveness that God offers
them. Jesus has rescued all of His
followers, whether they were once
extremely wicked or conventionally
good from eternal death.
Do you appreciate the wideness of
God’s mercy? Are you grateful for His
forgiveness?
Marami sa inyo na hihingi ng tawad sa
Panginoon and after that balik na
naman sa dati, paulit-ulit na lang.
Meron din naman sa inyo na hindi
magawang magpatawad ng iba. Why?
Dahil ang sarili mo mismo hindi mo
magawang patawarin. So, do you
deserve God's forgiveness and His
love? The answer is yes. Dahil una pa
lang minahal ka na ng Panginoon at
pinatawad ka na Niya.
The love of God is so pure that it can
wipe out all of your sins and mistakes.
Madali lang kay Lord ang
magpatawad. Isang sincere na
kapatawaran ang hingin mo at
patatawarin ka Niya. Bakit Niya
ginagawa ito? Dahil nga mahal ka Niya
at sana matuto kang pahalagahan ang
mga binigay Niya sa’yo at huwag itong
sirain muli.
Kaya matuto kang mahalin ang iyong
sarili at maging mapagpatawad sa
sarili. Sa gayon, magiging madali na
sa’yo ang magmahal ng kapwa at
patawarin ang mga nagkasala sa’yo. I
tell you, masarap sa pakiramdam na
may peace ka sa puso, walang
mabibigat na dinadala, walang iniisip
na malala. Be free and know that God
loves you so much and you are
forgiven already.

Daily Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:24
Daily Devo: People should not be
selfish. You want to live well, but your
foremost efforts should be to help
others live well.
Most people are concerned about
their own personal success. They
think of everything in reference to
how it will affect them. It is all about
“me first.” Self-interest is not your
true purpose. You should not focus on
your own desires and goals. It is much
more important to think about other
people. Hindi pwedeng sa’yo lang
naka focus at hahayaan mo na lang
ang kapwa mo na nasa dark spot ng
buhay nila. Maybe it is not easy at first
to think other people than yourself,
but if you ask and surrender it to God,
He will surely give you wisdom,
courage and motivation. He will give
you a willing heart to think of others
before ourselves just like Jesus did.
You must think about how you can
bring God’s good news to other
people. You must think about how
you can help other people to trust
God.
You have a responsibility to live in
such a way that you do not hurt
others. Your desire will be to do God’s
work so you can serve other people
with the strength God given you. You
must deny yourself and allow the Holy
Spirit to put to death your natural
inclination to be self-centered. As long
as you focus on yourself, you will be
unaware to the needs of others.
Ask God to free you from selfishness
so that your life is free to bless others.

Daily Verse: Psalm 147:3
Daily Devo: Who could fathom a heart
that experienced a bigger damage and
yet right now is still breathing for
love?
You already heard so many stories
about heart breaks pertaining to
loving someone — someone like your
family. A family that you long to be
whole again and you have been
praying for many years now but until
this very hour they are still on your
prayer list. Maybe you are this
someone who is exposed to a
battered mother or a betrayed father
and you grew up holding those
grudges. As you go out of that broken
little world, you tend to compare
yours with others and the bitterness
slowly and surely making a home in
your heart and the fear that it might
as well happen to you, so you’ve
decided not to involve yourself to
anyone else anymore.
But one day you understand how to
love like Jesus. To be connected as a
human but enough to guard your
heart. You understand that when you
love, you are also preparing yourself
to forgive. You breathe love because
this world needs a connector to help
build a hope of that broken story into
something which one might be
lightened up that Jesus is the one who
mends our broken stories into a life
changing testimony.
When you are filled with God's love
you can withstand an extra mile
declaring, "I may came from a broken
family but as I entrust my life to Jesus
it does not mean my future family will
end like that too."
So beloved, please continue to drink
in that kind of love for it is the
fragrance of this tolerating world.

Daily Verse: 1 Corinthians 16:14
Daily Devo: Today’s scripture has been
repeatedly shared and one
disadvantage about this is that you
have become familiar with it, such
that it does not pierce your heart
anymore. You thought you have been
doing it but in reality, everything you
do now has become a routine. At this
point of time, the previous verse
could be your reminder.
Keep watch. Be conscious and
intentional in your actions towards
others. As Gary Chapman says in his
book God Speaks Your Love Language,
“If we only do what comes naturally
and express love to God in our usual
manner, it is possible that even a
relationship with God will become a
routine.” Moreover, this also
encourages us to be careful with our
actions and intentions. The goal in
doing good thing is not to give glory to
oneself but to God alone, for God
alone.
Stand firm in the faith. As James said,
faith without action is dead. The more
you stand firm in faith, the more you
could obey God’s command, so that
this faith will be evident to people
around you. By obeying God’s
commands, others will see Christ in
you.
Act like men, be strong. This is not a
gender bias but to give you an
illustration, men commonly are
physically stronger than women. And
they are usually the ones who are
brought out to fight in wars. This
teaches us to be braver every day,
and not let fear and incapability
hinder us to do things with love.
Because with love, fear is lost (see 1
John 4:18).
“Give it all you’ve got, and love

Daily Devo: Love the unlovable.
Bago ang lahat, sino nga ba ang mga
"unlovable" na ‘yan? Siya yung
teacher mo na grabe magpa-exam
pero wala namang itinuturo. Yung
boss mo na panay ang utos. Hindi ka
pa nga nakakahinga mula sa una e
may pang-lima na. Sila yung pamilya
mo na wala pang relasyon kay Jesus.
Yung anak mo na puro nalang sakit ng
ulo at gulo ang dinadala sa’yo. Yung
nanakit sa puso at pangarap mo. Yung
gumulo sa buhay mo. At Ikaw. Oo,
ikaw.
Bakit mo nga naman mamahalin ang

Bakit hindi na lang love the lovable?
Why? Kasi wala ka naman makikitang
ganon. Kahit ikaw hindi ka naman
kamahal-mahal. Mabuti na nga lang at
hindi ‘yun ang standard ng Lord kasi
kung nagkataon, lahat tayo ekis, lahat
tayo hindi Niya kabati, lahat tayo hindi
Niya ituturing na anak. Hindi naman
ibig sabihin nito na magpakamartir ka.
Don't get me wrong, you also need to
let go of some people and things for
you to express love to yourself, too.
Wag kang magsawa sa mga taong
dinala ni Lord sa buhay mo. Darating
ang araw ang iyong pagpapagal ay
masusuklian ng walang hanggang
kasiyahan. Kung hindi man ngayon,
ang Diyos na ang bahala diyan.
Manatili ka sa pag-ibig Niya.
Pagkatapos ay ngumiti ka at dagdagan
pa ang pasensya dahil ginagamit ka ni
Lord sa pamamagitan nila.

Daily Devo: Kung ang Diyos ay
mapagmahal bakit hinahayaan Niya
ang ibang tao na maghirap? Bakit
hinahayaan Niya na makaranas sila ng
bigatin at kapighatian sa buhay? Kung
mapagmahal ang Diyos bakit hinayaan
nya na mawala ang mahal mo sa
buhay? Bakit nga ba?
Ito ang kadalasang tanong ng mga
taong nakakaranas ng problema sa
buhay at marahil naitanong mo na din
ito sa sarili mo. Lagi mong tandaan na
ang Diyos lamang ang may hawak ng
buhay mo at ng buhay ng mga taong
mahal mo. Ibig sabihin wala kang
karapatan na sisihin ang Diyos sa lahat
ng mga nangyayari sa buhay mo dahil
Siya ang unang nakaranas na
mawalan. Si Jesus na Kanyang Anak ay
inialay ang buhay para maipakita ang
pagmamahal Niya sa bawat isa sa atin.
Kung feeling mo walang nagmamahal
sayo at feeling mo mag-isa ka na lang,
you are wrong. Romans 5:8 says "But
God demonstrates His own love
toward us, while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.” Pagpapakita ito na
kahit ano pa ang kalagayan mo sa
buhay ay may isang nagmamahal at
nag-alay ng buhay para sa’yo gaano ka
man kadumi, anuman ang kulay ng
iyong balat at anuman ang itsura mo.
Ang Diyos na lumikha ng langit at lupa
ay nagpapakita ng pakialam sa buhay
mo. May ilang tao na makakapagbigay
ng buhay sa mga taong gumagawa ng
mabuti pero bihira ang taong
mag-aalay ng buhay para sa
masasama. But God gave His Son to
die on the cross, for us sinners. Kung
ikaw ay magulang, magagawa mo ba
na ibigay ang iyong anak sa mga adik,
lasinggero, tambay at mamatay tao?
Of course not. But God did. He really
loves you very much.
Do you have pain in your heart today?
Are you feeling lost? Look at the cross;
it is the proof of God's love for you.
Kahit makasalanan ka, mahal ka pa rin
Niya.

Daily Devo: Noong ikinasal ako sa aking asawa, isa sa mga

pangakong hindi ko makakalimutan ay ang mga salitang,
“Kapag ikaw ay nagkamali, asahan mong itutuwid kita,
sapagkat ang tunay na pagmamahal ay itinutuwid ang
kanyang minamahal.”

May isang magulang na pinalaki niya ang kanyang anak na

lagi niyang sinasabihan ng mga dapat nitong gawin. Lumaki
siya ng puro pangaral at pagbabantay sa mga ginagawa
niya pero lahat ng ito ay kanyang minasama at nagtanim
ng galit sa kanyang ama. Namatay ang tatay niya at naging
malaya ang anak. Kalayaan na naging dahilan para
malulong ang anak sa masamang bisyo. Kalayaan na naging
dahilan para masira ang buhay niya. Lugmok na lugmok
siya nung panahong iyon at alam niyo kung ano ang
nag-ahon sa kanya? Ito ay ang mga pangaral ng kanyang
ama. Narealized niya how blessed he was na nagkaroon
siya ng tatay na pinuno ang kanyang puso at isipan ng mga
pangaral. Nakakilala sa Panginoon ang anak na ito at
naging pagpapala siya sa marami.

Revelation 3:19 says, "I correct and discipline those whom

I love, so be serious and repent." You are serving the King
of kings and Lord of lords. God deserves a decent worship
with a righteous heart and life. When you commit
mistakes, the leader will rebuke and discipline you not
because they want you to suffer but because they want
you to be the best person you will be for God.

Ang Diyos ay nagpakita ng pagmamahal sa pamamagitan

ng disiplina. Kaya huwag kang magtatampo at tatalikod sa
paglilingkod kapag nakakaranas ka ng pagdidisiplina dahil

Daily Devo: When you question
everything na nangyayari sa iyo,
choose to look up. Kay Lord mo
makukuha iyong satisfaction o
pagmamahal na pilit mong hinahanap
sa mundong ito. Remember, things
your eyes can see are only temporary
but those ones na invisible are
eternal. (See 2 Corinthians 4:18)
Why continue to live miserably? Bakit
patuloy mong kinukumpara ang sarili
mong growth sa iba? Bakit ka
maiinggit sa mga bagay na meron ang
iba pero wala ka? Why choose to stay
broken kung si Lord ay kayang
magheal? Bakit hindi mo iiyak ang
lahat sa Kanya?
Beloved, kailanman hindi ka Niya
iniwan o iiwan. Whatever trials na
kinakaharap mo ngayon, handa ka
Niyang tulungan at bigyan ng
kalakasan. His plans are to prosper
you. (See Jeremiah 29:11) Hindi mo
man natatamasa ngayon iyong bagay
na gusto mo, ipagpatuloy mong
maglingkod. Your season is not yet
over. You will reap what you sow if
you faint not. At kung ano mang
pagkakamali ang iyong nagawa if you
ask forgiveness, His love and mercy
will always be with you. (See Psalm
119:77).

Isipin mo yung mga taong nagsasabi
na mahal ka, pero hindi naman pala
totoo. Isipin mo yung mga taong
dumurog sa puso mo — mga taong
gumulo sa buhay mo, binago ang
pagkatao mo, hinusgahan at pinaiyak
ka.
Kapatid, sobrang dami nila 'no? Ang
dami palang nakapanakit sa
damdamin mo. Hindi mo alam kung
ano ba ang dapat mong
maramdaman, kasi sa tuwing naririnig
mo pa lang ang pangalan nila, eh
badtrip kana. Ang masakit na
katotohanan ay yung mga taong
malalapit pala sa'yo ang kayang
durugin at saktan ka. Kung sino pa
yung dapat na sinasandalan, sila pa
pala ang magpapahirap sa‘yo.
But whatever it takes mahalin mo sila.
Sa lahat ng masasakit na salita at sa
masasamang nagawa nila sa'yo,
please love them still. Be so full of
God’s love that you will no longer be a
slave of your hatred. Hindi ito
magiging madali. Sino nga naman ang
madadalian diba? Mamahalin mo
yung taong nanakit sa'yo at
ipagdadasal mo pa? Yung tipong
pipikit ka para magdasal pero
nagdidilim ang paningin mo. Syempre
hindi talaga siya magiging madali!
Pero isipin mo ito, mahal ka ng Diyos
kahit na sobra mo na siyang nasaktan.
Mahal ka pa rin niya kahit na
paulit-ulit na yung mga pagkakasala
mo sa kanya. Kapatid, kahit mahirap,
kahit masakit, kahit paulit-ulit,
magmahal ka tulad ng pag mamahal
ng Diyos sa iyo – yung totoo at hindi
mapagkunwari.

Daily Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:13
Daily Devo: How can you love
someone who hurt you so much? How
can you love someone who betrayed
you? How can you love someone who
back fights you? How can you love
those people who break your heart
into pieces? Love, first you need to
forgive them even if they're not sorry
for what they did. Forgive them for all
the hurtful words they said, the lies
they told you, and for breaking your
heart repeatedly and intentionally.
In this generation, many hearts are
already broken and full of hatred.
Please have a heart that is so
forgiving, understanding and full of
love. Please have a heart that is fully
surrendered to God no matter how
broken and painful it is. Please have a
heart that is pure, undivided, full of
compassion, at peace and pleasing to
God.
Jesus Christ died on that cross
because He loves you. I'm not asking
you to die also on that cross just to
express your love to someone. What
I'm trying to say is love as you've
never been hurt. If they hurt you, love
them even more. As a matter of fact,
you hurt God million times already
but He still loves you, who are you not
to forgive?
In 1 Corinthians 13:13 it says, "So
these three things continue forever:
faith, hope, and love. And the
greatest of these is love."
As Mary Fairchild says, "Love is the
foundation for every good thing in our
lives. Without love, nothing else
matters."

Daily Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:7
Daily Devo: How can you turn a
betrayal story into something one can
hope that love is all you need to
change it? "They're all the same." you
said.
This is the usual answer of most
people who had gone through heart
breaks because of betrayal or was left
hanging. It wasn’t easy going along
with someone who has trust issues to
resolve with. For one can't show care
because you don’t want to get used to
that and you always think everything
will go to waste. The bitterness of
your heart comes out when you see a
couple along saying, "Walang
forever". And again you start
dramatizing how you have been hurt
by someone. You overthink so much
when people do good or show love
for you.
But let me tell you this: Love is a
wonderful gift you could give to this
world — this broken world. You may
be hurt by one person but it doesn't
mean you will get hurt by everyone.
When you allow God to hold that
pierced heart, you know it will never
be the same again. You may have a
bad relationship story from the past
but you have the time in the world to
make it twist and allow God to make it
happen for you — a story worth
flipping the pages on and on. But
know that even if you are still on the
process of stepping a love one at a
time, it is often you with a broken
heart has the most to teach everyone
about love and Jesus.
The moment you decide to give your
heart away without thinking what
could benefit you is when you decide
to be all in for Jesus when He says
love one another even if that another
is the one who has caused you so
muche pain. It's still you who is
fighting for love that we most admire.
Keep that love on fire and declare
there's forever in it.

Daily Verse: Luke 6:32
Daily Devo: Love your enemy.
This is probably one of the hardest
things that God has commanded. It is
already hard to perfect loving your
neighbour, but loving your enemy?
That’s just crazy impossible. Even
Superman won’t last an hour without
blowing his enemy’s head off.
So how can someone, so mundane
and flawed as you, learn to do such an
insurmountable task?
First thing to do is to avoid feeling
obligated by it. God doesn’t want to
make you a machine and force you
into an awkward, robotic love. If
there’s one thing that God requires
you is to keep your eyes on Jesus.
Once you fill your life with Him, you
will be so aware that you are
undeserving of His love. You will be
reminded that it is not who you are
that made Him pursue you, it was
because of who He is. And that same
grace will work deep in your veins,
filling every crack with compassion
that solely came from Him. That
compassion will lead into forgiving
those who have hurt you. Forgiveness
will now become a little less daunting
compared to the suffering Jesus has
endured for you. It will be a handful of
sand in the beginning of a vast,
endless ocean of His grace.
By grace, you are forgiven. And
through grace, you will be able to
overcome bitterness. Knowing God is
a God of justice, rest-assured that He
knows what He is doing with your
battles. Let Him do the work and just
focus on what you are called to do.
You are called to forgive and let go,
give grace even when it hurts, and
allow yourself to be so full of Jesus
that loving your enemy becomes your
joy knowing that it will make you
more like Christ.

Daily Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Daily Devo: "Why do you keep on
loving that person even if there is no
glimpse of hope to love you back?"
they said. You smiled and answered
confidently, "I am not even worthy for
God's love but still He gave it lavishly
for me so who am I not to share it to
others?"
Maybe you are this one person who
grew up praying that someday your
mother will love you back. In any
possible way, even the smallest act
would be the happiest thing for you.
Even the most cliche question of a
mother, "Where are you? Do you
know what time is it?”, would
somehow make your heart jump a bit
for you know she cares for you. But all
these things are the most non-existing
words from her.
But you believe that love is kind and
patient. And you will never get tired
loving a person like her. You might be
tempted to ask God that it is better
not to be born in this world than
being alive and yet seem to be dead in
her sight; but you know He has a plan
and purpose why He let you live in her
custody. You still do your best to
make up in your studies and you still
work hard even if she doesn't
appreciate it. You still cook for her
and ask if she's okay. You still bring
home pasalubong just for her. You
still tell her she is the most beautiful
woman you ever know. You still hug
her. You still know that you love her.
Even if all you've heard is, “I do not
mind."
Please know that even if you're
hurting due to these kind of
treatment, Jesus is so proud that
you're a recipient of His love and He
will never get tired of pouring out this
amazing love for you. The love
received is the love shared.

Daily Devo: That "Lord-ang-sakit-po" moments.

Nasaktan ka na ba nang lubusan na para bang gusto mo ng

talikuran si Lord? Naitanong mo na ba sa Kanya ang mga
katagang "Masunurin naman ako, bakit ako po?" Hindi
lang ito tungkol sa lovelife, maaaring sa pamilya o sa
problemang kinakaharap mo ngayon.

Bilang ating Ama, nasasaktan ang Diyos kapag nasasaktan

ka. Naaalala mo ba noong nadapa ka at si Lord ang kasama
mo noong umiiyak kang mag isa? Yakap yakap ka Niya at
pinagagaling ang galos mo sa tuhod. Hindi mo lang
napansin ang presence Niya kasi nakafocus ka sa sakit at sa
sugat.

Maaaring sa sakit na nararamdaman mo ngayon ay may

itinuturo Siya. Huwag mong takpan ang iyong tainga ng
mga alaala na hindi na maibabalik pa o ng ingay ng
sitwasyon ngayon dahil baka di mo marinig ang tinig Niya.
Oo, masakit pero hindi cruel si Lord to just hurt you
without a purpose. You are valuable to His kingdom and
that pain, family problem and grief will all be a testimony
of God's love for you.

As you read this devo, God will do His thing:

Pagagalingan Niya ang sugat mo.

Aayusin Niya ang pamilya mo.
Lalago ang iyong pananampalataya.
Lalaya ka sa anumang nagkukukong sa’yo.
Aalisin ni Lord ang mga hindrance para makalapit ka sa
Kanya.
He will open doors for you.
Makakapasa ka sa exam.
Ippromote ka Niya.
Gagamitin ka Niya sa workplace or campus niyo.
Breakthrough is coming.
He will move in your life.
He will move mountain for you.
You will be victorious!

Turn that "Lord-ang-sakit-po" into "Lord, ang

sakit-po-pero-salamat”. Brace yourself because blessings
are on the way.

loob. It isn’t your battles to begin
with, it is the Lord’s (see 2 Chronicles
20:15)
Love, the Lord takes delight in you.
Pinili ka Niya dahil may gagampanan
kang tungkulin para sa paglago ng
Kanyang kaharian. While you were a
sinner, Jesu died for you. Ang klase ng
pagmamahal na ibinigay Niya ay
walang katulad. Higit Siyang may alam
sa kung anong mga bagay pa ang
mangyayari sa iyong buhay. So anchor
your hope in Him. Huwag kang
mawawalan ng pag-asa.

Daily Devo: Take your time to heal..
From the hurt that makes you
sleepless. From the past that continue
to visit you every night. From the
expectations you didn't meet. From
the mistakes you keep on repeating.
From the sound of your failure. From
the noises of the world that keeps on
saying, "You will never be good
enough". From the person who
betrayed you. From the nightmare
that keeps you awake. From the
disappointments which makes you
think you are a 'failure'. From the
plans which did not go right. From the
pain that keeps you haunted. From
the life that you think that is worth
living for.
Take your time to heal..
Because in every pain, there is
healing. In every failure, there is
another chance. In every mistake,
there is another chance to try. In
every lie of the enemy, God will say
"You are worth dying for". In every
disappointment and betrayal, there is
forgiveness. In every scar, there is a
testimony to share. In every wrong
plan, God's plan is greater.
In every battle, there is a God who
shouts, "Be still and know that I am
God. I will fight for you!"
Take your time to heal. You are a
work in progress.

Daily Devo: Love like Jesus, even if it
hurts.
People should know you as disciple.
How? By loving one another as God
loves you. I hate to break it but if love
is not real, you are not truly a follower
of Christ.
Can I ask a favor? Please always
choose to forgive and love despite of
difficulties, discouragements,
heartaches, and brokenness.
Sabi nga nila madaling mahalin yung
mga taong kamahal mahal. Pero
paano naman yung mga taong nanakit
sa’yo? Yung mga taong nang
discourage sa’yo? Yung mga taong
winasak ang puso mo? Would you still
love them despite their flaws? Yes,
choose to love and forgive them.
Kahit masakit, kahit parang mahirap.
God loves you anyway despite of your
flaws, weaknesses, and sins. Dahil
ikaw mismo, nakakasakit ka ng hindi
mo namamalayan. Even si Jesus
nasasaktan mo na. Yet He choose to
love you. Kung paano ka Niya minahal
noong una, hindi iyon mapapalitan o
mababawasan. So therefore, you
must love one another as God loves
you.
I know there are times that it’s hard
to love the person who hurt you,
discouraged you, and broke your
heart. But God tells You to love them
like how He loves you. Even if it hurts,
love one another not because you
love them, but because you love
Jesus.
Real love is selfless.
Real love is truthful.
Real love is respectful.
Real love is pure.
Real love is Jesus.

Daily Verse: Philippians 3:13-14
Daily Devo: Have you ever been hurt
by the one you love the most?
Na-backstab? Iniwan? Pinagpalit?
Binigo? Kapatid hindi na bago 'yan.
The fact that those who are closest to
us has the great possibility to wound
us the most. It is actually inevitable to
experience pain and it's never been
easy to overcome this kind of pain.
Maaaring di mo napapansin na you
are slowly building walls around your
heart that causes you to become
bitter and hinders you from loving
again. Pero kapatid, it is what God
calls you to do. Even when it hurts,
nothing should ever stop us from
loving.
If someone have wronged you, left
you, hurted you or even betrayed you,
a memory loss is the best solution.
Ang mabisang gamot ay pagkalimot!
Mahirap pero always remember that
in every pain you will also find
healing. It's hard to forget things
especially if it really caused you great
damage. Pero as Apostle Paul said,
"Forgetting the past and looking
forward to what lies ahead", ang
dapat maging focus natin. Kapag kasi
ang nakaraan ay patuloy mong
aalalahanin, laging may mabubuhay
na damdamin. It's like you are hurting
yourself over and over. Take a break
and start examining yourself. Decide
to fully forgive and forget; let go and
let God. Yung pain na nararanasan mo
ngayon or even noon, ay "blessings in
disguise". Di mo lang napapansin na
mas pinagtibay at pinatatag ka nito.
This is not the end of your story. Don't
worry kapatid, God is always ready to
give you fresh start, heal what is
broken and resolve what has been
torn apart. Do not live with a bitter
heart but start living the life with
freedom that God promised giving
you!

Daily Devo: God loves you so much.
Always remember this realization,
kapatid. The fact that God sent Jesus
to live like us and to die for us was a
form of sacrificial love. Naexperienced
ni Jesus kung paano ang masaktan.
That's why Jesus understands your
pain. Pakiramdam mo ba walang
nakaka-feel sayo? Someone betrayed
you? Jesus was betrayed by one of His
closest friends too yet He still chose to
love him and eat with him. Pinagpalit
ka? Ganyan din ang nararamdaman
Niya sa tuwing pinagpapalit mo Siya
sa mga bagay na hindi naman
mahalaga. Iniwan ka? Nung nalaman
ng mga tao na ang ibig sabihin ni Jesus
ng paghahari ay sa mga puso ng tao at
hindi sa pisikal na trono, they left
Him”. At this point many of His
disciples turned away and deserted
him. Then Jesus turned to the twelve
and asked, “Are you also going to
leave?” (see John 6:66-67). Kahit na
ganito yung naranasan ni Jesus mula
sa mga tao, He still chose to endure
His sufferings just to prove His love for
you!
What's the point of these things?
These things are the best example of
"loving like you've never been hurt."
God's love for us through Jesus is the
best example of how we should
continually love. Love others, just like
how God continues to love you.

pinatawad mo na siya pero mahirap
kalimutan ang lahat ng ginawa niya.”
Nakarelate ka ba? Yung tipong sige,
move on na nga tayo.
Magkapatawaran na tayo. Pero sa
tuwing mag-isa ka na lang, naaalala
mo yung mga masasakit na salitang
binitawan niya sa'yo. Or maybe you’ve
been emotionally and physically
abused. Minsan akala mo magaling na
yung sugat kasi mukhang okay ka
naman sa harap ng mga tao. Pero
yung totoo? Hindi mo maamin sa sarili
mo na hindi pa lubusang magaling
yung puso mo. Bakit? Kasi itinatago
mo, itinatanggi mo. Hindi mo maamin
na may pagkakamali ka rin. Hindi mo
maamin na basag na basag ka na.
Wasak na wasak ka na. But love, God
sees beauty in ruins.
Have you seen a mosaic art? Ganun
ang tingin sa'yo ni Lord. Gagawin Niya
ang lahat para ayusin yung mga
pira-pirasong bahagi ng buhay mo
para maging isang magandang
inspirasyon sa mas maraming tao. And
you are not far from a mosaic art,
love. Out of those torn pieces of your
heart and broken past, you will see a
beautiful masterpiece crafted by the

patawarin ang sarili mo. Minsan kasi
akala mo hindi mo na kailangan yung
pagpapatawad sa sarili mo. But you
have to start forgiving yourself and
loving yourself kasi hindi mo pwedeng
ibigay ang isang bagay na wala ka.

Daily Verse: Jude 1:22-23

Daily Devo: “Hate the sin. Love the sinner”

For sure you’ve bumped into this phrases that left you
questioning yourself “How will I hate the sin and love the
sinner?”. Most of the time it’s really hard to love the
sinner. Whenever you want to forget the offenses they did
to you in the past a flashback of those painful memories
always happen like a thriller in the movie that you don’t
want to watch. You remember the hurtful things they’ve
done. You remember those times when you were in so
much pain. You remember the hurtful conversations
you’ve exchanged wherein you let your emotions take
over you. As a result you said something you can’t take
back anymore. You remember how much you’ve tried to
restore the friendship yet all your efforts were wasted.
Instead of gaining peace, your heart is replaced with anger
and hatred. How will you love the sinner if your heart is
brimful of hate? Ask this to yourself, “What am I trying to
win? A fight or the person?”. I hope it’s the latter. To win a
person despite the process is grueling especially if the
person hates you too.

In Jude 1:22-23, God wants you to learn few things and the
most important virtues there is in life.

1. To hate the sin - the offenses and to never judge people

just because of their sins.
2. To love the sinner - to show mercy. To forgive one
another. To forget the sins and that your love for them will
always prevail.

Remember to love God is to love your neighbor. You can’t

love God unless you love your neighbor it doesn’t work
that way. Always strive to win people not an argument.
Forget the hurts. Let love and forgiveness yield in your
heart. Say NO to hate and YES to love. This is what God
wants you to abide to love one another.

Daily Devo: Paano mo ba masasabi sa
tao na mahal mo siya? Ano ba yung
kaya mong gawin para sa mga taong
mahal mo? Kaya mo pa ba silang
mahalin sa kabila ng mga sakit na
naidulot nila sa’yo?
Naranasan mo na ba na masaktan
dahil may nagawang kasalanan yung
taong mahal mo? Siguro naranasan
mo na din ‘yan. Yung nagmahal ka na
nga pero sinaktan, niloko at iniwan ka
lang din. Grabe ang dala ng mundo
‘no? Kung sino pa yung nagmamahal
siya pa ‘yung nasasaktan.
Katulad ng Panginoon, ‘di naman Niya
deserve na masaktan at mamatay
para sa’yo. Pero nandyan pa din Siya
at patuloy na ipinapadama na mahal
ka Niya kahit nasasaktan mo na Siya.
Kahit lagi mo Siyang binibigo sa mga
pangako mo, hindi siya nagdalawang
isip na ibigay ang kaisa-isang anak
Niya para sa’yo (see John 3:16).
Pinatunayan niya iyon 2,000 years
ago. Mahal ka ni Lord kahit ilang beses
mo na Siyang sinaktan at kahit ilang
beses ka pang lumayo sa Kanya ay
patuloy pa rin Siya na naghihintay sa
pagbabalik mo. Mahal ka Niya hindi
dahil sa mabubuti mong gawa, kundi
sa simula pa lang ay mahal ka na Niya
kahit makasalanan ka pa. God hates
your sins but He loves you even if
you're a sinner.

Daily Verse: Deuteronomy 7:6-9
Daily Devo: Before the coming down
of Jesus, Israel is God’s chosen people.
He has constantly provided them the
needs, and delivered them from their
enemies. This is because God has
sworn to their fathers, especially to
Abraham who is the father of all
nation, the father of faith. He
remained faithful.
Today, every recipient of grace is
God’s chosen people. And constantly,
He is delivering us from our “Egypt”. If
you read the old testament, you will
see how foolish the Israelite was for
being a pendulum, going to and from
sin, even though God has already
revealed His greatness countless of
times. Yet what we do not realize is
that we’re also like them.
God had already been hurt countless
of times because of human’s
unfaithfulness. But in verse 8, He
assured His people that He has loved
them and will continually deliver
them. His faithfulness is manifested
even in His people’s failures. And at
the perfect time, His love conquered
every human’s failures, having Jesus
as the ultimate sacrifice.
Jesus, rejected and insulted, endured
the pain brought by the people He
loved so much to save these humans
from sin. And as recipient of grace, we
can also give the same love to people,
neglecting the pain they’ve caused us.
We are able because of the assurance
that God’s love will always be there to
deliver us. And His love is pure. And
pure love does not judge; it saves.

Daily Verse: Philemon 1:6-7
Daily Devo: Love your neighbor as
yourself.
How can you show your love to
others? One way is by helping them.
Maraming tao ang nangangailangan
ng tulong mo. Yung iba nandyan lang
sa tabi-tabi, kapitbahay or even
kaklase at kaibigan mo. Kailangan nila
ng tulong financially man yan,
spiritually or emotionally dapat lagi
tayong handang tumulong sa mga tao
na nangangailangan. We shoud get
involved in helping others.
Kung babasahin mo yung Philemon
1:6-7, makikita mo dito on how
Philemon open up his heart and home
to Christians and made Paul joyful.
Kung si Paul nga tuwang tuwa sa
ginawa ni Philemon how much more
pa si Lord di ba? Ikaw, kagaya ni
Philemon kaya mo ding magbigay ng
joy and comfort to others,
sa bagong lipat nyo na kapitbahay, sa
bagong kakilala mo, sa mga taong
walang tirahan, etc. And as you open
your home and hearts to others, you
show them Christ's love and refresh
their hearts. And by doing so, dinadala
mo na rin sila papalapit kay Jesus.
So go out your way and help those in
need and I'm sure that God will
reward you for your kindness.

 TESTIMONY | LOVE LIKE YOU’VE NEVER BEEN HURT
Hello I’m Laarni de Leon. I've always wanted to honor
God and share the Gospel through my artworks.
When I was new to hearing other people’s testimony, I
always envy them for having a really good story to tell
– because I had the thought mine’s too boring to be
shared, that there’s no “wow factor.” I surrendered
everything to Jesus. That’s it. My story isn’t the typical
God-changed-a-horrible-person-into-someone-better.
Little did I know, it’s about keeping my faith and
trusting God’s plans for me. So here, prepare yourself
for an MMK kind of story.
My family used to be financially stable until something
really unexpected happened. On 2012 (I can’t
remember the exact date) my dad was rushed to the
hospital because of stroke. We lost all of our savings,
including the house and the motorcycle my parents
just bought. We did try our best for my dad to recover
but sad to say, he didn’t recover. So the only thing that
supports us financially is my mom, who’s a public
school teacher. My sister and I were in high school
when this happened. I am already attending church
services during those time because we were enrolled
in a Christian school, but I see no growth. I don’t know
the true meaning as to why I needed to attend and
why I needed to share His words. Probably I was doing
it because it’s a school trend and I don’t what to get
left behind by my friends.
When we reached college in 2015 struggles got
tougher because studying in college is quite too
expensive. My mom’s income isn’t enough to support
us both so they decided to make my sister stop
studying.

In 2016 I got invited to a sem-ender party sponsored
by a Christian church. That was the only time I felt
warm and welcome on a church. Everyone has been
really nice and approachable. After that, I started
attending (their) church services. I remember going
home late, telling my parents I have school-related
stuffs to do on Fridays and Sundays just to attend the
church service. I was scolded a lot of times because of
this. It’s not that my parents are against me going to a
Christian church, it’s just that they don’t like me going
home late. (Huwag tularan. Obey your parents.)
Here comes the second semester. Our family was in
financial instability again that I had to stop studying as
well. My mom’s income was really not enough to send
me to School. I counted it joy though; I reminded
myself of God’s plans and convinced myself “I’m still
young. I have a lot of time to finish college.” Then one
day for no apparent reason I discovered I’m good at
arts.
I went back to school after a semester. Fast forward to
2018, we have experienced more sufferings. My mom
took a leave at work because she’s always getting
herself admitted in the hospital like every month.
Sadly, she passed away last November. I had to stop
another semester again and hunt for a job. Seeing my
friends graduated on time broke my heart. Don’t get
me wrong, I am happy for them, it’s just sad seeing
their graduation photos without me.
Yes, I asked God why He allowed this to happen. Have
I been a bad daughter? Why me? I even doubted His
existence. Then I have come to realized and thought of
My story reminded me of how good God still is despite
the storms. I have learned that His plans are better
than mine. I may have stopped and did not graduate
on time, but at least I found out that I am good at
something – painting. It opened a lot of doors and
opportunities that made me grow more as a person. I
learned to step out of my comfort zone.
His thoughts and ways are higher than ours. Trust His
plans. I hope we always remind ourselves that God
promised us hope and a good future. Time to let go of
the “what if’s.”
