PURPOSE
Simran Verghese
I have always believed that a global education is imperative to one’s growth. Even if the material
provided across geographies is the same, it is only in the exchange of ideas, perspectives coming
from different nationalities, ethnicities and cultures that can truly inform and educate an
individual. I say this because I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel across the country,
throughout my academic life, as my father is serving in the Indian Army.

The more I travelled, the more I realized the importance of learning and the different forms it can
take in the life of an individual. Last spring, with my parent’s encouragement, I had applied and
was accepted in a university in Dallas, Texas. However, due to budget constraints and lack of
scholarships provided by the university, I had to forgo the process. I was surprised, when, after
enrolling in Christ University, Bangalore, that I had missed out on so many aspects in the field of
management, which were imperative for me to learn, before I stepped into the professional
environment.

During the past ten months, I have found myself growing in leaps and bounds. With marketing,
being my favorite subject, I have an absolute love for research and quality presentations. My
one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Xavier Institute of Communications, after my under
graduation made sure I was well equipped with tools like Canva, Adobe – Photoshop, Illustrator
and PremierPro. My Undergraduation in Psychology, English and Communication Studies have
helped me build strong people-skills.

I wish to join the internship opportunity provided by Ureka because I identify with the
company’s vision of providing students quality education and skill sets that help them become
world leaders. I look forward to the learning and contributing meaningfully in the growth of the
company.
