 Kinoton's patented electronic drive system has
proven itself in the world's leading film studios for
many years and has set a new standard for
projection quality of 16 mm and 35 mm films in
countless cinemas. The next step was to further
develop this concept for a perfect reproduction of
the 70 mm format.
Solid construction for absolute reliability
The film run mechanism, the reel drives, the sound
reproducers and the electrical and electronic components are
housed in a robust steel case providing a +10° projection
angle adjustment.
Mechanical components as well as control units are easily
and quickly accessible and – in the rare event of failure –
simply replaced.
All controls are thoughtfully located on the drive side of the
projector for easy access.
The long curved film gate was especially developed for the
70 mm format. Its construction prevents buckling, heat
flutter and focus shift. Refrigerated water cooling is provided
for the film gate, the intermittent sprocket motor and its
drivers.
The FP 75 E projector allows quick and simple conversion
between 35 mm and 70 mm.
The projectors are delivered factory pre-wired and tested thus
cutting down on installation time and expenses.
Electronically controlled pulldown for perfect picture
steadiness
A specially designed digitally controlled water-cooled
synchronous motor is used for the precision intermittent
sprocket drive. Software – factory set and field adjustable –
adjusts the intermittent motor drive to correct for even the
tiniest irregularities in mechanical drive components such as
sprockets. This and the continuous control and re-adjustment
of vertical picture steadiness combined with the longer dwell
time of each frame are key factors in the FP 75 E's superior
picture steadiness, focus, contrast and light intensity.
Remote framing is standard.

By replacing the mechanical intermittent movement with an
electronic system it is possible to instantaneously switch
from projection mode to high speed continuous run. The
projector versions featuring shuttle mode are a superb tool
for film producers, laboratories, archives and for special
venues such as exhibitions, destination theatres and
amusement facilities.
Synchronized shutter for optimum light efficiency
The FP 75 E projector utilises two counter-rotating single-
blade shutters. The rotation speed is synchronized to the
projection speed. Completely flicker-free projection without
blurring is the result. In the S version this is true throughout
the whole range of projection speeds from 1 to 30 fps.
Electronically driven reel shafts for easy and gentle
film treatment
The reel shafts are each driven by their own electronically
controlled motor. Micro-processor control ensures gentle,
constant film tension for all film formats and all reel sizes.
The winding direction can be reversed. If no film is threaded,
or in the event of film break, the reels will stop
automatically.
Interlocked coupling
The standard version of the FP 75 E-S projector generates a
biphase signal to drive other equipment.
Special formats / Large screen projection
Models are available for the reproduction of special and
large formats such as 8/35, 8/70, 10/70, dome projection,
3D, and different projection speeds.
