SikaRapid® C-100

SikaRapid® C-100
Superplasticizer for precast
Description SikaRapid® C-100 is a liquid strength accelerator for concrete and mortar. The
product provides early strength development and at the same time positively
impacts on final strenght. SikaRapid® C-100 is especially suitable for all applications
where fast, early strength development is important in the first few hours.

SikaRapid® C-100 is CE marked in accordance with: EN 934-2. CE Certificate No:

2719-CPR-704.
Construction

Usage SikaRapid® C-100 is used in the following applications:

 Manufacturing of concrete elements
 Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) where early deformation is important
 Slipform Concrete
 RMC where waiting times are critical
 Concrete mixtures containing mixed cement
Characteristics/ SikaRapid® C-100 provides the following benefits through accelerated concrete
Advantages hardening within 4 to 18 hours depending on concrete composition, fresh
concrete temperature and curing conditions:
 Faster turning of the shape within element molding applications.
 Reduced or eliminated heat or steam hardening
 Fast construction processes and early load bearing capacity.
 No negative impact on final strength.
 Ensured early strength development of concrete mixes with mixed cement
 Use of optimized binder paste volume, which provides increased durability

SikaRapid® C-100 does not contain chlorides or other substances that can cause
corrosion on steel. The product can therefore be used in reinforced concrete
structures.

Application  SikaRapid® C-100 can be combined with other Sika products.
 Do not use SikaRapid® C-100 combined with expanding additives or retarding
admixtures (eg SikaRetarder).
 Important: Always try pre-testing before combining products in a mix and contact
our technical support for information and advice regarding special combinations.

 SikaRapid® C-100 is added to the measured water or added together with the
water into the concrete mixer.
 SikaRapid® C-100 can also be added to the concrete truck at the workplace.
When added to the workplace, the car mixer should rotate at maximum for at
least 1 minute per m³ of concrete and at least 5 minutes to obtain a uniform
concrete mixture.
 Check visually that the concrete mix is even before the concrete is casted.

 The standard rules for good concrete work, both in terms of production and
casting, must be followed.
 Laboratory trials shall be performed before casting in the workplace, especially
when using a new concrete recipe or in the production of new concrete
components.
 Fresh concrete must be cured properly and curing applied as early as possible,
Construction

especially at low temperatures.

 Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use.
Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

 When using SikaRapid® C-100, a suitable concrete composition must be used

and local materials are tested.
 If the product has been frozen and / or precipitated, SikaRapid® C-100 can be
used after first thawing at room temperature and during intensive mixing.
SikaRapid® C-100 should not be added to dry cement. Before use, suitability test
must be performed.
