Still bad weather/Bad weather continues: roads blocked in Apulia/Puglia, a woman rescued from the

water(s)

The meteorological situation is slowly returning to normal in the south of the peninsula.

Roads blocked in Puglia - The situation is normalizing in Puglia where, however, State Highway 106 in the
territories/area of Ginosa and Castellaneta is still blocked due to/because of (the) flooding caused by the
bad weather. It is necessary to follow/take State Highway 100 from San Basilio to Mottola to reach Taranto.
Circulation is regular/normal on the streets under municipal jurisdiction/the city streets in Ginosa, while in
Marina di Ginosa the schools (will) remain closed again today and the situation on some country roads/in
some country districts remains/is still difficult. On several roads in Castellaneta and Castellaneta Marina
there are problems of practicability because of the overflowing of the Lato River and

the presence of mud on Provincial Road 13, on the stretch between the “Le Ferre” and “Chiulli” districts, has
been reported.

Woman rescued from raging waters - A woman was rescued in Corato when/after, while driving her car
on/along the city’s ring road on Via Vecchia Bisceglie, she was/had been swept away by water and mud,
losing control of the car and ending up in a field. The woman had taken shelter near an olive tree, but the
water had already reached a meter in height. The police and the woman’s family arrived on the spot/scene,
but neither were able to help her. Pending/While waiting for the arrival of the fire brigade, the police
stopped a passer-by driving a(n) off-road vehicle/four-wheel drive/SUV/Jeep and together they reached and
rescued the woman, who was in a (state of) panic by that time.
