2. Discuss why this would happen.

 From the result above, the further the distance from the source, the lower the sound intensity.
 This is because of the distance from the sound source increases, the area covered by the sound
waves will also increase. So the same amount of energy is spread over a greater area. The sound
waves will also become smaller when it moves away from the sound source.
 Besides that, some of the sound energy also might absorb by others medium during the long
distance travels. Therefore, the sound intensity will decrease due to the increases of distance
from the sound source.
 From the result above, we can also notice that the reading of the sound intensity before travel
through the board is always larger than the reading of sound intensity after travel through the
board.
 This is because the sound energy will absorb by the board and only some the sound energy will
travel through the board. Therefore, the reading of sound intensity is decreased.
 From the result above, we also noticed that the sound reduction index of gypsum board is the
largest at distance 180cm compared to the cement board and plywood board.
 This is because gypsum board can absorb or reflect more of the energy of the sound waves
compare to plywood board and cement board. Therefore, lesser energy of sound waves travel
through the gypsum board.
 Sound reduction index refers to the level of sound insulation. This also means that gypsum
board is a better soundproofing material compare to plywood board and cement board.
 From the result that we obtained, we may notice that there are some errors.
 The errors are mostly caused by the external factor.
 The sound of the air-conditioning may affect the reading of the sound level meter.
 The chitchatting noise of the student nearby the sound level meter may also affect the accuracy
of the readings.
 Therefore, we should conduct this experiment in a very quiet environment area to prevent the
inaccurate of the readings.
