REFLECTION ON “HENERAL LUNA” THE MOVIE

In the midst of misfortune and consequences, a genuine patriotic General fought

for his country. He is someone who is not driven by greed nor ego, just pure love for his
country which depicts his identity. In the series of battle, a lot of misfortune came. As
they fought the Americans on the battlefield, they had lost too many men and is in need
of more countrymen from the Kawit troops. Unfortunately, the head of the captain that is
working is on his copulary organ rather than the head of the brain. As the battle
continues, General Luna was driven mad. He mounted a horse and scourged the
American troops like a flash of the wind gushing through a stormy shore. He was shot
but somehow survived. With his depiction of patriotism and act of courage, his fellow
countrymen then followed, a clear depiction that one should just ignite the flames for all
to follow. The Filipinos won that certain battle.

We won a certain battle, but we lost the war. The true enemy of us, the Filipinos,
are ourselves. We cannot even comprehend a certain good and Genuity of a person
and his intentions. We are driven by greed by and power that we hinder and attack
those who oppress our opinions and ego. It makes our mindset toxic as our ego is
bigger than our love for our country. Character changes as we are faced with greed and
power to boost our ego in these vast circumstances that the world has given upon us.
The fanaticism of us that depicts our arrogance will sure impact us all, in face of greed,
power, vengeance, and satisfaction. As the famous saying says, “Divided we stand,
united we fall”. It is an explicit show of how the greed and self-interest or selfishness is
bigger than the patriotism and our own identity.

A war between the battle of egos. A ununited front and government that lacks the
competence and fighting spirit to defend a stronghold against the Americans. Mistakes
were made, greed was stronger, businesses were opened, economy was lifted, lives
were taken, but for what price did it take?
