KEYBOARD CHOREOGRAPHY: LESSON 4
SEYMOUR BERNSTEIN – INSTRUCTOR

“As we go fast, all motions become refined”.

The left hand must only skip a third while performing arpeggios, while the right
hand must skip a fourth. This difficulty requires stretching the fingers.

With the thumbs rotating toward your body, hold on to 3 and move your arm to
the right.

After any 1 2 3 pattern (or 1 2 3 4), stop and play the next 1. Repeat this 1 over
and over to develop the proper movement. This applies both to scales and
arpeggios. The elbow never juts out to the side. If you have a small hand and
cannot connect the fourth interval (G to C) you have to hop to the C instead.
However, going fast, the listener should not notice.
