Frequently Asked Questions

(1) Would IS codes be required in the exam?

If yes, would they be allowed in exam halls?

IS codes are not allowed in the exam hall.

Relevant data is given in the question.

All questions will be independent.

Remember equations, information on reinforcement etc. given in different clauses of IS

456:2000.

Remember those clauses (relevant clause numbers are listed at the end of this document).

(2) How many questions would be asked?

It is a 100 marks exam and the duration is 3 hours.

We are advised to set questions in the following format :

There will be 20 questions of 1 mark each, 20 questions of 2 marks each and questions
for remaining 40 marks should be made such that marks of each question in this
group will not be more than 5 marks.

(3) How long would each question be, in terms of solution?

Use of one or two formulas will be sufficient to answer a question.

(4) Would the questions be similar to the assignments?

It will be almost similar to assignments.

(5) Any other important advice with exam.
