TITLE OF THE WEBSITE: kimchains

PROPOSED DOMAIN NAME: kimchains.com

Purpose of the Site:

The web site will be able to simplify the time consuming task of promoting and answering
queries about the product. It will provide up to date information for the clients as well as
additive ones whenever and wherever they need it. It will also allow the users select items
they want to buy. A shopping cart module will take care of the user’s selections and
payment will be handled by a third party payment gateway.

Audience:

Visitors of the site will be individuals or groups capable of spending. The buyers will most
likely be composed of teens and those who can access the net. The site should be made
clean and very easy to understand focusing on the products currently available. Each
product page should have brief information on a product and give emphasis on the product
photo.

List of pages

a. Home - the homepage will serve as the welcome page and show an overview of the
products. It will also display a list of product categories

b. Mood – this will display a list of products grouped by personal mood (the mood is
according to the person)

Selecting a specific design and shape will display the product page.

c. Prod page – each product page will show photos and description of the product. The
content of the page is determined by what is requested. The product information
(category, product, description, stock, price, and filename of the photo) will be
retrieve from a database.

The name of the database will be products.mdb and the table that contains the records will
be named products. The products table will be composed of the following data fields:

A. Category – the data that tells the mood assigned to the product

B. Product – the name of the product

C. Description – the details of the product

D. Stock – the available number of products in stock


E. Price – the current price of the product

F. Prod name – the filename that gives the product image

There will be different links in the page

Pick this– a link that allows the user to add the current product displayed in the page to be
displayed in the product page

Shopping bag – a list of items already in the cart will be displayed in the product page

Counter – a link that allows the user to checkout or go to the order page will be displayed
below the shopping cart

d. Shopping bag – the shopping cart page will allow users to review and remove
items in the cart. A checkout link will also be displayed in this page

e. About Us – details about the company

f. Contact us – location and full contact information.

Theme and Layout

g. Theme - the site should use the company colors and should be in modern context

h. Navigate – a navigation bar should be made available in all pages. A simpler text
equivalent of the bar should also be placed at the bottom of each page so that the visitors
do not have to scroll up for the bar if they want to jump to another page. The navigation bar
should contain links to Home Page, key chains, Shopping bag, About Us, and Contact Us.

Other Requirements

i. Maintenance – the team should be able to determine or assign the updating of


information

j. Client side scripting – each page may use JavaScript to enhance its interactivity if
and when required

k. Server side scripting – the site will be hosted by a web server using windows 7 or
any other windows otherwise. Therefore, it will use Active server pages
