ISSUE ON NATIONALISM:

As repeatedly propounded by the negative side that removing Filipino/Tagalog, Panitikan in college core
curriculum erodes our national identity and jeopardizes nationalism as Filipino people, the negative side
is oblivious of the fact that our identity and nationalism as Filipino people is not dictated only and
exclusively by teaching Filipino/Tagalog in the college curriculum, as if it is the only means to instill
nationalism.

Nationalism as well as the spread and use of our national language can actually be instilled and
inculcated through different means. As a matter of fact, CHED pronounces the use of Filipino/Tagalog as
a medium of instruction in all levels. Moreover, nationalism and the spread and use of our national
language can also be instilled even outside the four corners of the classroom.

ISSUE ON LOSS OF JOBS:

This has been fairly and squarely addressed by the third speaker such that there is no loss of job to
speak of considering that loss of a subject to teach is not tantamount to loss of job. As such, this
argument propounded by the negative side does not hold any water.
