1 Cathy Barnes is Simon’s wife.

4 She sings and plays the piano.
5 She writes software for computers.
6 But at the moment she does not have a job.

Never?
1 - Cathy, where are the car keys?
2 - I don’t know, dear.
3 Are they in your coat pocket?
4 - Of course not. I never put them in my coat.
5 - In that case, what are these?
6 - Those are... the car keys.
7 - I, er, sometimes put them there!
Exercise 1 - Translate
She doesn’t know where they are.
He doesn’t have a coat.
I never put them in my pocket.
Of course not.
These are my keys and those are your keys.

25 Twenty-fifth lesson
A lazy weekend
1 Simon doesn’t work at the weekend.
2 He and Cathy get up late and have brunch.
3 Then Simon does the shopping
4 and Cathy goes to the gym.
5 In the evening, they don’t do any cooking.
6 They usually go to the cinema and then to a restaurant for a late dinner.

Fully booked
1 - Good evening. Welcome to “The Twenties”.

3 Put us in the non-smoking section.
4 We want to be not too far from the door but near the kitchen - and close to the
waiter!
6- I’m sorry, sir, but we’re fully booked this evening.
Exercise 1 - Translate

The restaurant closes at weekends.

27 Twenty-seventh lesson
A terrible restaurant
1 Simon and Cathy can’t find a free table anywhere,
2 - so they try a new wine bar near their house.
3 - This place is really terrible, darling.
4 The food’s dreadful, and the portions are so small!
5 - Hey, waiter, your thumb’s on my steak!
6 - Oh don’t worry, sir. It’s not very hot.

She lives somewhere near you.
The food in this restaurant’s dreadful.
