1.3. AGEING ANALYSIS

Ensure that old stock is sold quickly so that you can order stocks that are in demand as per current
market trends and increase profits

Tally gives you the FLEXIBILITY to specify your own periods (F:6). For different types of items, you
may need the age of your stock differently. If these periods were fixed, it would not be TRULY
USABLE!! This is a very POWERFUL capability which helps you thus:

 Identify old stock which is not moving or moving slowly…..It means, your funds are blocked
and you need to get rid of them to release funds – to put back in your working capital
 Old stock occupies warehouse space which is costly. By identifying such stock, you will be
able to get rid of it faster and save money on warehouse space.

1.4. STOCK CATEGORIES AND STOCK GROUP

“You may also classify items based on Product Type or Brand which helps to take decision on
alternate items in same group or category. One of the report of Tally – Stock Query gives full
information about the SKU, alternate item in same group or category, where located and its
purchase and sale price and also its order status in Single Click”

1.5. DEFINE REORDER LEVELS / STATUS REPORT

“It’s important that we stock the right quantity of stock all the time. Will it not be helpful if we
have earlier consumption pattern at our fingertips or we could set the levels on reaching which you
get information on quantity to order?”

1.6. REPLACEMENTS OF DAMAGED GOODS

There are products which need replacement due to damage or poor quality. These can be
addressed with Debit and Credit Note and can Use Godown to track the good sent to parent
company for replacements.

It also addresses the requirement of GST filling with proper tagging of data

2.3. PAYMENT PERFORMANCE OF DEBTORS

Bring cursor on “Recv. Turnover in days” on the right side  show the “no. of days”

“This is how you identify the recovery strength has been for your organization, this represents in
how many days, on an average, you have taken to recover money from your customers”

Drill down and press to display Debtors list  Customer-wise payment performance in days

“This is how each customer has performed when making payment to you”

What you are seeing now is the payment performance of a single party for all his bills, this is one
powerful report that helps you identify your Good and Bad customers and decide on credit control
accordingly”

“This number is the average time, in which you are able to collect payment from your customers”.

2.4. SET/ UPDATE CREDIT LIMIT FOR YOUR PARTY

3. CASH FLOW MANAGEMENT
“Important for any business to know the current and future cash availability to make commitments
in relation to payments and investments”

Show ‘Inflow’ and ‘Outflow’, then effect on ‘Nett Flow’ to highlight Positive or Negative flow of
cash during the month.

Drill down on April to show months’ detailed report for Inflow and Outflow, resultant Nett Flow

“This statement gives you the current inflow & outflow of cash. Looking at this report you will not
only get information on currently available cash in hand but gives you complete information on how
& where the money coming in from and going out to. This makes it possible for you to take
important decision on where you can cut down your expenses”

3.3. CASH FLOW PROJECTION

Esc  Cash Flow Projection Press F12: Configure Set “Yes” for all options and save it, then
click ‘Alt + F1 Detailed’

“Similar to Cash Flow statement the cash flow projection gives you information on cash, however
this will consider cash which is expected to come or go in the future along with current balance”

3.4. CUSTOMER OUTSTANDING MANAGEMENT

“It is highly critical for the businesses to know their current outstanding and act upon it quickly, as
delayed recoveries can choke your cash flow”

“These outstanding list may contain recent bills, however as an owner of the business you are more
concerned about the old bills, you may and you should focus on recovery of the overdue bills,
therefore Tally.ERP 9 allows you to age the bills”

Age-wise analysis of Customer-wise outstanding bills:

Press F6: Age wise  Select either by bill date or due date and then specify the Bill Ageing Period
for Eg. 0 to 30, 30 to 45, 45 to 60 and 60 to 0

Focus on customers who are keeping bills pending for more number of days and ask your salesman
to collect immediately.

Faster bank reconciliation allows you to know the funds availability, Tally makes it simple by
importing your Bank Statement downloaded from Bank!!

3.6. STATUTORY COMPLIANCE

Don’t miss the deadlines for GST and TDS payments, be on top of statutory compliance with
accurate Tally reports.

GST Reports:

Display  Statutory Reports  GST  GSTR-1 (for Outward Supplies including Reverse Charge)

GST Returns will include all transactions relevant to returns period and shows transactions which
are incomplete in separate bucket.

TDS Reports:

Tax Deducted at Source from your vendors and tax paid to government is an important factor.

4. DATA MANAGEMENT

Security Control – Company Info (Alt+F3) -> Security Control -> Users and Passwords

Assign rights to users as per their profile. Privileges can be combinations of Create, Alter and
Delete transactions. Similarly view reports which you want them to view.

4.3. BACKUP OF DATA

Data Backup – Company Info (Alt+F3) -> Backup

Take backup locally and show how tiny the backup file is and discuss on ease of taking backup.

4.4. REMOTE ACCESS

Remote access of your data within Tally is secure and live data is shown at remote location.

From Company Info.  Login as Remote User

Remote accessing of data will make you take business decisions even when you are on travel.

4.5. E-MAILING FROM TALLY

Send an e-mail from Tally of an Invoice, report of any other document to audience’s mail id and
confirm if they have received.
