Topic: The importance of choosing the right electives for your course.

General goal: To inform the audience the importance of choosing the right electives for you.
Thesis Statement: Electives are important to enhance your knowledge and skills, widen your
horizons, and meet different people that share the same skills.

1. Introduction
1.1. I am a self-acclaimed jack-of-all-trades. In short, I don’t really know what I want
specifically.
1.2. Electives are important to enhance your knowledge and skills, widen your
horizons, and meet different people that share the same skills
2. Body
2.1. Electives can enhance your knowledge and skills.
2.1.1. DLSU offers numerous electives from the 8 colleges and their different
departments (DLSU, 2020).
2.1.2. In the flowchart of IBS, 7 electives are required to be accomplished since
it is also considered as majors (DLSU, 2020).
2.2. Having electives widen your horizons.
2.2.1. You can explore the global world from a business perspective to the
literature and the fictional world.
2.2.2. Electives can be taken abroad through DLSU’s exchange programs or in
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde if you’re interested in the arts and
Hotel Management.
2.3. They allow you to meet different people that share the same skills.
2.3.1. Not everyone will be your blockmates.
2.3.2. Electives are classes with mixed ID numbers and courses.
3. Conclusion
In conclusion, since electives are an optional course of study, it is best that you
choose electives to your liking because electives further increases your knowledge and
skills, widens your limit, and allows you to meet diverse people with the same interest as
you.
