Information
Changes of the vehicle software can cause malfunctions of the interface. We offer free
software-updates for interfaces for one year after purchase. To receive a free update, the
interface must be sent in at own cost. Labor cost for and other expenses involved with the
software-updates will not be refunded.

1. Prior to installation
Read the manual prior to installation. Technical knowledge is necessary for installation. The
place of installation must be free of moisture and away from heat sources.

Limitation
Factory-TV-tuner must be removed if installed

Retro fit rear view camera switching automatically into reversing gear only possible
for newer MFD1

2. Installation

Switch off ignition and disconnect the vehicle’s battery! The interface needs a
permanent 12V source. If according to factory rules disconnecting the battery
is to be avoided, it is usually sufficient to put the vehicle is sleep-mode. In
case the sleep-mode does not show success, disconnect the battery with a
resistor lead.
If power source is not taken directly from the battery, the connection has to be
checked for being start-up proven and permanent.

2.1. Place of installation

The interface is installed on the backside of the navigation.

2.2. Removal of head unit

Unlock the navigation unit and remove it from the


dashboard.

2.3. Connecting the interface to the navigation unit

• Connect Video-out of the AV-source to the interface box

• Connect Audio-out of the AV-source to the cable harness

Cinch-connections:
YELLOW = VIDEO-input (FBAS-signal)
RED = AUDIO-input right-hand side
BLACK = AUDIO-input left-hand side

•Connect round 10pin-connector of the cable harness to


the round 10pin-female connector on the backside of the
navigation

• Red wire of the cable harness connect to +12V ACC

• Black wire of the cable harness connect to ground

• Green wire of the cable harness +12V= VIDEO ON


if connecting an AV-source:
Audi Navi Plus (all) Connect the green wire
VW MFD 1 (older versions) Connect the green wire, if TV is not selectable
VW MFD 1 (newer versions) NOT connect the green wire

if connecting a rear-view-camera:
VW MFD1 (newer version) Connect the green wire to reverse light (+12V of reverse
light signal) by using a relay

2.4. Activation of the interface as a current AV-source

MFD1 Press AUDIO and select „AV“ (possibly switch the AV-source to “A+V” before)

Navi Plus Press RADIO/CD/TV and select „AV“ (possibly switch the AV-source to “A+V”
before)

2.5. Picture settings for the interface

The picture settings can be changed on the interface.


For this purpose, the casing must be opened. There
are contact eyes on the PCB which are marked with
"K" for contrast, "F" for colour and "H" for brightness.
Both over and under these contact eyes there are
further contacts, marked with "-" and "+". To change
the respective picture value, the corresponding
middle contact eye and the contact eye with "-" or
"+" must be bridged briefly.
