INTRODUCTION

Pha Rung Shipyard Company is one of the biggest subsidiaries of Shipbuilding Industry Corporation special-
ized in shipbuilding / ship-repairing and means of waterway transport, previously was Pha Rung Repair
Shipyard - A cooperation project between the Government of S.R Vietnam and Republic of Finland put into
operation in 1984. At the beginning of operation, Pha Rung Repair Shipyard was the one of the most
advanced shipyard in Vietnam and the home for repairing ships from worldwide customers such as: Russia,
Germany, Greece, Korea, Singapore ...
After long time of specializing in ship-repairing, Pha Rung started newbuilding vessel in 2002 with the first
success of 6.300 DWT - General cargo ship. Subsequent to the first success, many new series of modern
vessels have been exported to customers all over the world such as: 6.500DWT Oil and Chemical Tanker for
Korean customer, 13.000DWT Oil and Chemical Tanker for Greece; 34.000DWT Bulk Carrier for UK, Italian
customers. Beside that series of General cargo vessels 6.500DWT, 12.500DWT, 20.000DWT, Ro-Ro vessel for
Damen (Netherland) client, barges, fishing boats, tugboats, navy patrol boats for domestic have been
satisfied customer's demand.
In meanwhile workshop and production lines can enables output of 10 ton products of steel fabrication and
steel blocks per year.
Specially, 34.000DWT Bulk Carrier named “San Felice” was selected one of The best twelve vessels in 2010 by
Ship and Shipping Asia News.
With the aim of sustainable development and best satisfactory for customer’s demand, Pha Rung is being a
reliable address of both domestic and foreign customers.

SHIP REPAIRING

Throughout 30 years of operation, more than thousands of vessels from domestic and oversea
customer have been repaired at the yard as: Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Korea,
Japan, Thailand. Repair service is performed at dry dock (17.000dwt), floating dock (8.500dwt),
alongside the quay and emergency repair at anchorage to meet the demand of class as; Lloyd, DNV,
NK, KR, RS, BV, ABS, VR…

STEEL FABRICATING

In the depvelopment company within

extended bussiness segment , using all
existed infrastructer of company had
been participated in the steel fabricat-
ing market.
With much more exprerience engineers
and workers in the shipbuilding, ship
repairing, Pha Rung has been gradually
contact with internal and external
customers such as Lilama, JGCS...In proc-
cess, many huge projects were be com-
pleted with high quality, in time sched-
ule and high assessed by partners. Weld-
ers with certificates 3G, 4G, 6G certified
by internal and international organiza-
tion.

TECHNOLOGY

Over 30 designers are naval architect,

mechanic engineer with 5-10 years working
experience of designing vessel and industrial
constructions.
A team of managers are experienced, many of
them were well - trained in Finland and
Japan.
A team of technic staff and professional engi-
neers were well – educated in domestic and
foreign universities.
A team of naval architects have good com-
mand of using software “Ship Contractor and
Autocad” to design and calculate technical
drawing and shop drawings.
