6/15/2020 6:29 p.m. Morales to Greene:

“I just want to let you know in case you don't already, that you have officers who
actively work for you spreading a narrative publicly involving me in the
department's decision not to interfere with the Confederate monument activites.
You and I both know I did not say a word to you about enforcement of property
destruction. In an effort to remain professional and not to create a divide
between us, I have not said anything. I am letting you know, this will not go on
much longer before I will have to address it if you are unable or unwilling to stop
this spread of false information. "

6/15/2020 6:50 p.m. Greene to Morales: "I will look into the issue and what is
being said."

6/15/2020 6:50 p.m. Greene to Morales: "I'm going to have a meeting with
my assistant chiefs in the morning to make sure the message was clear and
passed down to the troops."

6/15/2020 6:58 p.m. Morales to Greene:

"Thank you. Sgt McGgee has sent a letter to council that is now circulating social
media where he gives his account from the scene and through his employment
with PPD. I truly want to stay completely out of any drama but he is speaking out
and giving wrong information and being inflammatory saying I should have
somehow appeared at the scene to stop people when I was never there and that
truly would have been abnormal at best and would have been an attempt to take
over your role, which I don't do. This has gotten downright ugly. I'm sending
several screenshots of the letter, hopefully they come in order. "

6/15/2020 6:59 p.m. Morales to Greene: "The first one is where he specifically says I should have
stepped in about an opinion he quite frankly appears to have made up. "

6/15/2020 7:05 p.m. Greene to Morales: "Ok. I think I can clear this up. It has nothing to do with
you not prosecuting destruction of property. The defense attorneys on scene told the officers
that you advised the defense attorneys you would not prosecute for trespassing. MCGEE was
one of those officers the defense attorneys said that too. "

6/15/2020 7:09 p.m. Morales to Greene: "I see. My issue is, he is giving secondhand information
to the public that is in fact incorrect. I actually told Elliott Moody who represents the two that
because of the racial inequity I was concerned about and also the back and forth about whether
they had permission from you from the night before, we would not proceed but should people
continue the action after the fact, the same would not be true. So if he was confused he should
have talked to you, so you could ask me. "

6/15/2020 7:11 p.m. Morales to Greene: "No one can speak for my office but us. His comments
are incorrect and unprofessional at best and I would never allow the members of my
department to speak about you in that way. In fact, I have reminded them of their
responsibility to remain professional and respectful, no matter what they see or hear. "

6/15/2020 7:17 p.m. Greene to Morales: "I will definitely have a conversation with him."

6/15/2020 7:22 p.m. Morales to Greene: "I understand the talking but will there be a correction? We
have enjoyed a relationship of mutual respect for some time but just like if a member my office
publically disparaged you, I would take responsibility, I'm asking you to do the same and hold these
officers to a higher standard than to spout off misleading information publicly. "

6/15/2020 7:58 p.m. Greene to Morales: "I will definitely have a conversation with him."

6/15/2020 7:58 p.m. Greene to Morales: “I’ve sent the letter to our professional standards unit to start
an investigation.”

quiet for some time and I have allowed people to say whatever they have wanted to about me.
I'd like to talk to you about all this before I set the record straight. I'm being bombarded with
ugliness and I'm done taking it. "
