Unit G: Mythology Comparison Chart

Instructions: Fill out the following chart that compares one myth to one work of modern fiction.
The myth that you choose should be one of the four that you read last week. The work of modern fiction
can be a TV show, movie, or book you’ve seen/read recently. You may choose from the following list if you
feel stumped, but you do not have to! NO Percy Jackson! It’s too obvious.
● Any Disney/Pixar movie that teaches a moral or lesson
● Any Marvel or DC hero comic/movie
● Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia
● Stranger Things

Use your graphic organizer from last week to help you focus on character traits, common theme,
setting/plot, symbolism, etc. You need to include and explain at least four similarities between your
myth and your modern work of fiction. Each explanation should be between 1-3 complete sentences
long. You do not have to provide direct quotes in your explanation; paraphrasing and your logic are
enough!
