AC PLUG. AC power plugs and sockets connect electric equipment to the alternating
current (AC) power supply in buildings and at other sites. Electrical plugs and sockets
differ from one another in voltage and current rating, shape, size, and connector type.

ANODE CAP. An anode cap is a device that seals and protects the critical connections
between an anode and a lead wire.

AQUADAG. The aquadag coating has two functions: it maintains a uniform electric field

inside the tube near the screen, so the electron beam remains collimated and is not
distorted by external fields, and it collects the electrons after they have hit the screen,
serving as the return path for the cathode current.

AUDIO AMPLIFIER IC. An audio power amplifier (or power amp) is an

electronic amplifier that amplifies low-power electronic audio signals such as the signal
from radio receiver or electric guitar pickup to a level that is high enough for driving
loudspeakers or headphones.

CHOKE TRANSFORMER. In electronics, a choke is an inductor used to block higher-

frequency while passing direct current (DC) and lower-frequencies of alternating current
(AC) in an electrical circuit.

CHOPPER TRANSFORMER. A chopper is a device that converts fixed DC input to a

variable DC output voltage directly.

CRT. Cathode ray tubes perform one function, which makes them unique as transistors:
They convert an incoming electronic signal into a stream of electrons which is designed
to create a picture by reacting with a substance on a screen.

DEFLECTION YOKE.  Deflection yoke is a kind of magnetic lens, used in cathode ray
tube to scan the electron beam both vertically and horizontally over the whole screen.

DEGAUSSING COIL. A "degausser", is an electronic tool used for demagnetising

materials, thereby eliminating any magnetic fields they may have.

ELECTRON GUN. It is a device used in Cathode Ray Tube for displaying the image on
the phosphorous screen of CRT.

FLYBACK TRANSFORMER. The purpose of a flyback transformer in a monitor

or television is to generate high voltage about 24 kilovolts dc to picture tube or crt.
HORIZONTAL OUTPUT TRANSISTOR(HOT). The horizontal output transistor (HOT) is
a switch. It provides a path for current to flow through the fly back’s primary winding and
horizontal yoke. The HOT is switched on and off by a signal applied to the base.
Because the this is a power transistor, a current drive signal is needed.

POSISTOR. That component is posistor (PTC) and the function is to control the

degauss. When you switch On the CRT Monitor or Television, the PTC resistor is cold
and low resistance.

POWER CAPACITOR. Power capacitors are passive electronic components that

provide a static source of reactive power in electrical distribution systems.

POWER CORD. A power cord, line cord, or mains cable is an electrical cable that

temporarily connects an appliance to the mains electricity supply via a wall socket
or extension cord.

POWER SUPPLY. A power supply takes the AC from the wall outlet, converts it to
unregulated DC, and reduces the voltage using an input power transformer, typically
stepping it down to the voltage required by the load.

POWER SWITCH. The function of an electric switch is to regulate the current between
the load and source of power. The power source is the electrons that push through the
circuits. The voltage is the quantity of force or pressure applied by the power source.
Power sources must have a negative and positive endpoint.

RELAY. Relays are switches that open and close circuits electromechanically or
electronically. Relays control one electrical circuit by opening and closing contacts in
another circuit. ... When a relay contact is Normally Closed (NC), there is a closed
contact when the relay is not energized.

TUNER. Most TV tuners also function as video capture cards, allowing them to

record television programs onto a hard disk much like the digital video recorder (DVR)
does.

VERTICAL DEFLECTION YOKE. The vertical deflection coil of a deflection yoke is

wound by repeating the process that a main winding is realized by wire wound from the
one end to the central portion of each core, wire which returns back at once from the
central portion to the other end of the core, is wound along the outer circumferential
surface of the core.
