AIR COMPRESSOR RESTARTING PROCEDURE

AFTER SHUTDOWN
 Procedure during shutdown:

Switch off the compressor and isolate the incoming power supply.

Release compressed air from air receiver tank through the drain
valve and empty the same.

Drain the moisture from line filters.

Keep Silica gel packets inside the canopy and electrical panel if
the machine is in long idle condition (More than 20 days).

General inspection on compressor - oil level, leakages and other

abnormalities which will help us in arranging the parts during
re-start.
 Procedure Before Commissioning:
• Clean the compressor if any dust and foreign particles deposited due to long idle condition.

• Remove silica gel packets from Canopy and Electrical Panel If placed.

• General inspection required on all parts and electrical connections for any abnormalities like hose damage, control cables and any oil deposition.

• Before starting, the oil level sight glass (SG) should be between 1/4 and 3/4 full.

• Drain the moisture from air oil receiver.

• Rotate the compressor motor manually to ensure free rotation.

• Open compressor outlet valve.

• Switch on the MCB / Circuit Breaker and check the incoming voltage and control voltage.

• Push the start button. Check the direction of rotation of motor. If wrong, then press the emergency button and change the phase sequence accordingly.

• Start the compressor and put it in unload condition for 5 minutes. Then put it on load condition and observe all the running parameters and for leakages

• Switch on Air dryer and check dew point in Gauge or Display unit.
