To configure the transducers two set points need to be made, these need to be done at
different pressures. The first set point should be taken at 0 psi.

The current loop reading should be entered into the ‘SP1 (mA)’ cell and the outlet
pressure into the ‘SP1 (Units)’ cell in the transducer configuration window as in the
example image below.

Current loop
read out.

The outlet pressure should then be increased to operating pressure and the current
loop reading and pressure entered into ‘SP2 (mA)’ and ‘SP2 (Units)’ cells in the
transducer configuration window respectively.

Select ‘OK’ in the transducer configuration window and the read out will display the
gun pressure in real time as in the example image below.

A - INSTALLATION OF RSS2 SOFTWARE/CONFIGURATION OF USB DRIVERS

INSTALLATION
The RSS2 system requires a Windows PC, either a laptop or desktop. The application should run under any
Windows operating system, although we have only tested it and support its use under XP or Windows 7.
There are now two installations on the supplied CD, one for just RSS2 and one for the full ACQ-suite of
applications.
Double-click on the ‘Set-up.exe’ file; you can accept all the default settings.
By default, the software is installed to:
‘C:\Program Files\ASL\RSS2’ (32-bit machines), or,
‘C:\Program Files(x86)\ASL\RSS2’ (64-bit machines),
for the RSS2-only install.
If installed as part of the ACQ-suite of applications, it will be installed to
‘C:\Program Files\ASL\ACQ’ (32-bit machines), or,
‘C:\Program Files(x86)\ASL\ACQ’ (64-bit machines)
Wherever it is installed however, you should get a short-cut icon on the desk-top.
USB DRIVER LOCATION
The first time the RSS2 is connected to your PC, you will be asked for the location of the USB driver files.
On 32-bit machines, select the folder
‘C:\Program Files\ASL\<ACQ>or<RSS2>\USB\32-bit’
On 64-bit machines, select the folder
‘C:\Program Files(x86)\ASL\<ACQ>or<RSS2>\USB\64-bit’
If you are unsure whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit machine, look under ‘Control Panel’, ‘System’ (XP) , or,
‘Control Panel’, ‘System and Security’, ‘System’ (Win7).
On installing the drivers you will most likely to get a warning that the drivers have not been authenticated by
Microsoft. This is expected and select to use them anyway!
