and legendary fox Brad Pitt made a cameo in a video message to graduates.

A native son of Missouri who hails from Springfield (which is also home to MSU’s
campus), Pitt popped up after an introduction from the school’s president and
mascot, Boomer the Bear. “Hi, everyone, Brad here from quarantine,” the actor
said. “It must be very strange doing this in these trying times, but we’re rooting for
you. Our money’s on you to make this world a better place, and we wish you all the
best in your future endeavours.”

There’s just something about Brad Pitt’s familiarly gorgeous face that feels so
soothing in our moment of crisis. He’s been more than generous with his time in
quarantine, from cold-opening an April episode of Saturday Night Live at Home as
Dr Anthony Fauci to playing an underachieving weatherman on John Krasinski’s
web series, Some Good News (just a split second of Pitt craning his neck out to a
patio overlooking LA palm trees, but still). With this week’s feel-good appearance,
the newly minted Oscar-winner with all the jokes has cemented his international-
treasure status. Somebody give Pitt an honorary doctorate.
