I am using there total security but can it be as simple as just switching off bit defender's firewall. Thanks for the quick
response

Nigel Hill1 day ago

setup of cf 10 seems great.can you configure bitdefender ts to work with cf. There are so many people saying it can or
can't be done.been following you for ages and if it can be done you would know.love the vids .cheers

cruelsister11 day ago

Hi Nigel- Although I can't see what the difficulty would be in using BD (I assume the free version), but I will check
on it. If I don't respond within a week, prod me.

Thanks for your great video. But I think it could be better if we enable "Create rules for safe applications". Because
CF's gonna auto-block quite lots of system files without alert (even explorer.exe etc or avastservice as I'm using
Avast). So what ya think about that?

cruelsister12 weeks ago

Actually if you follow my settings to the letter no system files will be blocked. And Avast files should be fine as they
are all well known and signed. I will however check on the new build of Aavst to see if what I just said was accurate,
and if not will get back to you.

Nhân Nguyễn2 weeks ago

But it actually did untill I enable "Create rules for safe applications". Even when I use ping.exe to check my network
connection, It did get blocked. Some system files got blocked too althought CF said it's trusted.

Salutations/Greetings! M!!! Biggest headache for me is trying to remove Comodo Firewall complete from a couple of
my Laptops? Why? You may say? So, that, I can reinstall the latest version of Comodo Firewall. For Windows 10!
Comodo Firewall will NOT install until, I completely remove the old version of Comodo Firewall. Still up to this
point, I can NOT install the latest version of Comodo Firewall. Any thoughts? I have tried Comodo removal tool
ect....

Amperu2 weeks ago

Michael Moose wait. can you explain how is that you cant remove comodo completely? ive use comodo for years and
reinstall it a couple of times in remove programs just like any other program and i havent got a single issue with it.
now i use version 10.

Amperu2 weeks ago (edited)

try remove any comodo file in safe mode. use ccleaner to delete any entries and leftovers but as i said i normally
unistalled comodo as any other program with no issues whatsoever

Michael Moose2 weeks ago

Hi Amperu! It remove from the PC's, but far I know! But when, I go to reinstall Comodo Firewall, it will say that I
have uninstall after Comodo Firewall reaches 60 percent. I will ccleaner and run the registry cleaner ect... And see
what happen?

Amperu2 weeks ago

Strange, i always uninstalled Comodo firewall when new version came out and so far in the past 5 years i had no
problem with it. How about your windows account? are you the administrator? This could cause some problems. I
think you should manually remove every single Comodo file and entries in safe mode(or with bootable CD). Google
if you dont know how.

Windows 10: I will give it a try!!!! Thank you!

Really appreciate your videos and hope you keep publishing them! I've usually installed the full CIS on my Win10
x64 PC, which amounts to Defender being disabled. So, I can't help but wonder when you install just CF (no AV) if
you'd leave Defender running/enabled, rely on the Comodo Sandbox, or install any other products to fill the gap? I
guess what I'm wondering is... if I uninstalled CIS and installed just CF, would I need anything else to cover me for
AV/Malware?

cruelsister13 weeks ago

Great question! Although I have Comodo in very high regard, their AV at this time (and we live in the present) just
sucks. So using CIS (which has the Local AV) instead of CF (which still has the Cloud AV, just no local scanner)
makes no sense to me. Windows Defender is not very good against malware newer than 36-48 hours' but it is good
against Scriptors due to its use of the AMSI (on Win10- this does not apply to Win7 where WD just sucks). Although
I personally do not use a supplementary AV with CF, there is no reason no to do so if you feel more comfortable in
installing one. Formerly (and Kinda-sorta at present) I liked Qihoo which has the best definitions of all freeware
AV's, but they are instituting Ads in the product. Right now it isn't an issue, but God knows what will happen in the
future. Otherwise I would suggest ONLY a freeware AV, and a good one like Avast/AVG or BitDefender. Hope that
helped. M

Thank you for clearing that up! I sort of felt that an AV might not be "really" required considering nothing unknown
runs outside of the sandbox (or blocked depending on config choices). I guess an AV (with sig's) could give you an
early warning that questionable file(s) may exist on your HD, but if they can't run.... not super critical. I guess it
depends on how much you can trust the source of your files. One thing I'd miss installing just CF over CIS is the
"Ratings Scan". I like to run it after installing new applications as a form of training. So what I might try is keeping
CIS installed and just disable the "real-time" AV and Viruscope options and re-enable Defender to keep windows
security center happy.

A "must watch" for anyone interested in securing their system. A lovely video. Thanks.

Hi cruelsister1. Finally, now im using CF10 as well. Did you already test CF10 against your nasty malware that is
using high quality certificate? And does the HIPS module still need to be on to stop it completely? Probably so but i
would like to know.

WildAfrica1 month ago

What do you think about files on Onedrive or Gdrive? Can ransomware encrypt them? If so, it can be a big problem
for many people. How protect the file on Onedrive and Gdrive? I cannot use Comodo on my old laptop.

Mister Mister1 month ago

Always enjoy watching your videos cruelsister, thanks for your efforts! Was wondering though, in your setup you
disable HIPS, but leave Viruscope and Website Filtering enabled. Do you see any added value in keeping those two
modules enabled?

cruelsister11 month ago

No, not really. But the system impact is virtually non-existent so why even bother to shut them off. Also the reason I
keep the HIPS off is that in my setup all it will be doing for you is alerting for things already sandboxed, which
would be pointless.

Hi there! Thank you for sharing this tutorial :) I have a few questions. 1) Does Comodo Firewall has the same
sandbox as Comodo Antivirus/Internet Security? If not, how do they differ from each other? 2) Does Comodo
Firewall compatible with ESET Smart Security 10? I am thinking to use only Sandbox feature (using your setting in
this video) from Comodo Firewall (HIPS, Firewall, Viruscope and Website Filtering disabled) to be combined with
ESET Smart Security 10 (default setting). Will they conflict each other? If so, what is your opinion so that I can get
them to be combined? I want the Comodo Firewall Sandbox and ESET Smart Security to work along together. p/s: I
know some say Avast and Qihoo 360 will work great with Comodo Firewall, no doubt about that but ESET? Your
answers will be much appreciated.

cruelsister11 month ago

The difference between Comodo Internet security and Comodo Firewall is that CIS has a local AV scanner, and the
Comodo AV is not good. The new product Comodo Cloud AV is not as efficiently coded, so that shouldn't even be
considered. The reason AVAST and Qihoo are mentioned is that they are more pure AV's and not Suites. Personally I
have no idea how well CF and ESET would work together, but with just the sandbox on it shouldn't be an issue.

Salutations/Greetings! M! What advances does Comodo Firewall 10 Setup over SandBoxie? And would you use
AppCheck Pro with Comodo Firewall 10, or would this be over kill? Your thoughts? Jonathan Marlin has some very
interesting questions! Below! Kind regards,

cruelsister11 month ago

That's easy! Comodo's sandbox is automatic. With SBIE you have to place the file within the sandbox yourself. This
is an important distinction, especially if you get distracted and just run something without thinking: with SBIE (as
excellent as it is) you would be screwed; with Comodo, it would catch you when you fall.

Hi Cruelsister1, I'm amazed what changes can be made with a free program like Comodo, it really gets very little
credit for how effective this program truly is.  Thanks for the demo.

Jonathan Marlin1 month ago

Hey cruelsister, may I ask why you choose to run the sandbox in restricted instead of untrusted? Some of your older
videos have you running it in untrusted so I was curious as to why. Also, I don't know if you'll be able to answer this
or not but what's the impact on malware using a standard user account over an admin account? Keep up the great
videos too. I've been interested in cyber security for a while now and your videos have really helped me become far
more knowledgeable about the subject in general, so thank you for that. :)

cruelsister11 month ago

Jonathan- thank you very much for that comment! If even one person comes away from watching any of the videos
with more knowledge than before than I've reached my primary goal. But about the sandbox restrictions- it really
comes down to the individual user more than the absolute protection afforded. Running at Untrusted, many things
will just die in the sandbox. This is real good for malware, but may confuse those not familiar with virtualization
when an un-whitelisted application just won't run. The Restricted setting will give the rookie an idea of what is
occurring so it can be remediated. So for Old Comodo Hands Untrusted is optimal. For novices, run at Restricted.

Nice video. Comodo is def one of my favorites, despite a lot of hate from others. How do you like V10 compared to
the previous version?

cruelsister11 month ago

I like it, and really have found no issues over version 8. There are 3 significant changes from version 8 that I did not
address: 1). Previously Firewall Security would ONLY sandbox stuff in the Downloads directory (a really stupid
idea). They've fixed this, but I still would never use that Configuration. 2). There are a couple of new things that you
will see in RAM, specifically isesrv.exe and vkise.exe. These newbies are part of the ongoing Valkyrie
implementation, and I believe so far are there just to check for valid Root certificates (you will see it as part of
"Internet Security essentials", and not Comodo firewall). 3). I have to do a short video on it, but getting stuff out of
the sandbox is made easy with the addition of the Unblock Application icon on the GUI.

Does Comodo Firewall 10 slow down computer? I want good protection with minimal system impact. Great video
btw :)

HARDNADER1 month ago

It didn't for me. It ran lite on system resources.

cruelsister11 month ago

CF is among the best in being the least intrusive on System Resources. I've tested in on VM's that barely crawl at the
best of times and CF worked happily.
