INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION:
San Pedro, Ma. Miracle G.

I have so much appreciation to our documentary. It's about the hardships and

sacrifices of a father for his family. First and foremost, I am so much blessed that my father is

still there to make my family complete and functional. I admit that sometimes I have always

time to start arguments with my Papa and questioning all his failures and my expectations

about our needs. Sometimes, I hurted him in my words and expressions and I really felt sorry

for that unrespectful responses. I always let myself understand that he is not perfect, he often

made mistakes. On the other hand, he has a good and modest job. His profit doesn't define

how much he loves us, as a family. He work hard to help us with my siblings to finished

college and have a better life. In that way, this documentary reminds me more positive things

my father did to our family. Unfortunately he is not a father material but he still my father.

He is the only man that brought me here in this world. Also, this documentary allow me to

treasure all the efforts, diligence and perseverance to bring the best life for my family. I

realized that their experiences are not easy to live with. They were just endure it and choose

to keep it for the good sake of their love ones. I believe that all fathers are strong because

they fought hard out of their love and care. So, my salutation to all fathers never change

because they always did well. They were always my second hero and man of my life. Its just

help me to love them more back as much as many time I could be even when I feel bad to

them. I learned to appreciate them and always pray for their strength, courage and faith that

someday their sweats, pain and sleepless nights will pay off soon.

Pascual, Raymond
As we tackle this kind of documentary, I knew that it would require a lot of effort as

well as open minds for us. Although, some people may consider our documentary cliché or

redundant, still we took that opportunity to highlight and emphasize the hard work of our

OFW's. As we went to the hometown of our classmate, Miyaka Delos Reyes, we felt the

breeze of comfort as well as the welcoming atmosphere, comparing the "polluted" area of

some areas in metro manila. After wandering some of the areas of bulacan, including some

portions of Sir Pablo Delos Reyes' life, we learned that the concept of "underemployment"

was already present before then. Underemployment refers to the condition in which people in

current occupation are employed, wherein their degree or previous course (program) of

profession is not aligned to it. For me, and as a student who's having a hard time in choosing

his course, this thought became scary to me. Because, almost every time I have these

thoughts, I always think those what if's. Given the fact of the current situation and economic

system my country is in, the chances are evenly-fair. Good thing that sir Pablo Delos Reyes

gave me, as well as to my fellow groupmates, some enlightenment to the world as we know.

Even before we did our interview to Sir Pablo, we already knew that he was a great

father to his family. Based from his actions and facial expressions and overall gestures, we

knew it would be easy to interview and to have a discussion about his occupation and life.

Although during our interview with him, there were a lot of distractions that were heard in

our documentary. Nevertheless, these didn't distract him and still continued on answering out

questions. As these happened, us interviewers of course have to repeat some questions over

and over again to have that clear audio. In our part we became embarrassed of this, however

sir Pablo said that it was fine, and we should only just do the roll again. For me, one of the

funny things that happened is that on the behind the scenes of our interview with him, we

asked many questions that weren't really part of our prepared ones. Out of our curiosity, we

asked his educational background which he turned out to be a PUP Alumni graduate.
All throughout the interview, we felt welcome into his home, even I personally felt

that we became part of his family on that day. For me, it's not just an interview we did but

also a search on his ways of being a great father on his family. And based from the looks and

the present condition of his family, answers were already answered even without being

explicit. Truly a father like sir Pablo Delos Reyes, proves that the Father is the foundation of

the Household. The Unconditional love he has for his family, as well as having that right

level of priorities is what makes him a great father.

Boco, Aldrin

By meeting and interviewing Sir Pablo Delos Reyes, I noticed that he is the kind of

father that will do everything just for his family. He is willing to work overseas knowing that

he won't see and be together with his family in a long time. He is the kind of father that you

can tell your problems with. He is also funny and can make jokes with. I can see that his

relationship with his children shows how light their relationship with each other unlike other

father and children relationship. As I see the bond of Sir Delos Reyes with his youngest child,

I remember that their bond is just like with my own father which is just happy and making

jokes to each other. I can say that Sir Delos Reyes is the kind of father that most of the

children wishes to have.

In terms of his job, I am surprised and amazed that he did already three jobs which are

being a teacher, an OFW, and currently as a Grab driver. By telling his stories in three

different jobs, I can see and feel the struggles he had been while doing those jobs. Even

though he is experiencing those struggles, he keep on working because he knows that it is the

only way he can provide the needs of his family much better than other jobs.
As of now, he works as a Grab driver but he said that if there's a good opportunity that

he can work again abroad, he will grab it. We all know that being an OFW is a very hard

work to do despite of many struggles of every OFW are facing. He is willing to sacrifice

again the homesickness just to support and sustain his family needs financially. I can see here

that Sir Delos Reyes really wants to give his family a contented and happy life especially in

financial aspect. It melts my heart that a father won't think his own situation, his only priority

is just his family.

I can conclude that being a father is a very hard kind of work that every man needs to

be committed on. Being father is a kind of work that is willing to do any hard jobs just to

provide the needs of his family. Like what he said in the interview, just keep on holding on

until you reach your dream for your family not just for your own self.

Alvior, Mark

Doing such things has a process, everything starts at first step and end in last step. Just

like what we did, a documentary. Creating a documentary video is not easy what we think,

and other than that we are not good in creating video. It has a lot of process including

thinking a concept, making shots and of course, editing. Although, each of us have a

difficulties but we made ourselves learned from it. I made my self-became more responsible,

we made a friendship and became united in every decision that we chose. We're helping each

other in every task especially in our weaknesses. Honestly, it is hard for us to doing such

documentary, especially in the days that we need to meet our deadline in other subject and

we're running out of time. We need to manage our time properly and that is difficult. Added

to this is the pressure because this documentary video will going to present in a program in

which the other strand of senior high school will be there but enjoying the things on what

you're doing will let the pressure free and the pressure will become excitement.
The most important part of creating a documentary video is the life lesson from the

interviewee, they telling us how hard to pursue their job and to create money to fulfill the

needs of their family, their life story gives us a determination, motivation and inspiration to

reach our goals and dreams in life. I realize how lucky the people having a complete and

happy family, I think it is called happiness.

Navarro, Stephendai

I, myself, believe that there's always a father that would do everything to make his

family in better life. This was the best experience I've had when we're shooting this

documentary where everyone were listening to this story of our interviewee and focusing to

the on-going interview. It could really help us to be motivated and be courageous in our life

that no matter what happen to your life just always think that there's your family who could

help you resolve any problem that you may encounter.

Honestly, it was hard for us to conduct this kind of documentary but thanks to God

that guided us all throughout this interview. And we we would like to thank to the family of

Sir Pablo.
