5BE IT ENACTED BY THIS UIL CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:


6SECTION 1. The following two reforms will be made under this legislation.

7 A. Resisting arrest, as a criminal charge, may only be applied to

8 individuals found to have resisted arrest for a crime they committed.

9 B. Individuals are permitted to use force, up to and including lethal

10 force, for self-defense when attacked, threatened, or otherwise

11 endangered by an officer of the law for a crime they did not commit.

12SECTION 2. Resting arrest will be defined as intentionally preventing a person known

13 to be an officer of the law, including, but not limited to: physical force,

14 passive resistance, and evasion.

15SECTION 3. This legislation will be implemented and overseen by the Department of

16 Justice

17SECTION 4. This legislation will go into effect beginning fiscal year, 2022
18SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
