ARTICLE ANALYZING AND CRITIQUE ASSIGNMENT-INDIVIDUAL

The article introduced the relations between the Principle of Unattainability of

absolute zero and Third Law of Thermodynamics. The author demonstrated that it is
impossible to achieve absolute zero temperature of the system with the Principle of
Unattainability. For Third Law of Thermodynamics, it is mathematically corresponding to
unattainability of absolute zero temperature. However, some arguments proved that Third
Law of Heat-Theorem is not entirely equal to the Principle of Unattainability.

Furthermore, the author explained how to achieve absolute zero temperature with
ground state of a quantum system by Boltzmann factors, simply means all particles shall
remained static and no internal energy. In addition, Boltzmann entropy is impossible to reach
absolute zero temperature by adiabatic process due to populations of the excited states and
the existence of initial temperature. However, postulating process employs non-adiabatic
process to attain absolute zero and to avoid expansion of energy gaps between the first
excited and the ground states. The ideal concept of the projective measurements in quantum
mechanics is to ensure the entropies are reduced and forced to drop into its ground state in the
system.

Moreover, I do agree with the author’s comments about the relations between the
Principle of Unattainability of absolute zero and Third Law of Thermodynamics. Regarding
to the author, any pure energy eigenstate obtained pure state is accessible to the ground state.
The author also mentioned about the postulate process of the energy to obtain in zero
temperature. In my point of view, it seems impossible to reduce the entropy to zero due to the
existence of excess entropies in the system and projective measurement is proved that it is
ideal concept which is impossible to attain physically.
