Inference:

The phase margin of the transfer function is 45.7o at a frequency of 1.24 rad/s.

The phase margin of the transfer function after the addition of the lag compensator is 41.4o at a
frequency of 1.25 rad/s.

This depicts a decrease in phase margin after the addition of the lag compensator .

Hence we conclude that lag compensator applies its attenuation property to shift down the Bode
magnitude plot at mid and high frequencies. In the meantime, Lag compensator can increase the low
frequency gain and hence reduce steady state error. The phase is always negative, that is why it is
called a lag compensator.
