The enlisted force structure states the responsibilities of each rank to best meet mission

requirements. It provides a common, stable career structure for all enlisted personnel, and
provide all Airmen the opportunity for professional growth. The enlisted force consists of three
distinct tiers which relates to increased levels of training, education, technical competence,
experience, and leadership.

The enlisted force structure strongly affects the subordinate development in the
organization since it provides guidance, support and additional training to give military
personnel discipline, trust and confidence to make decisions when the situation demands. It
also develops military personnel to be responsible airmen, trained and competent in the unit
where he or she is assigned to.

As a future first line personnel, the accomplishment of my mission and the welfare of
my subordinates will be my top most priority. I must have the integrity, competence, personal
discipline, and the sense of responsibility to be able to fulfill my duties efficiently and
effectively. As a leader, I must lead by example to my subordinates so I can be a good influence
to them. I must treat each subordinate the same and give them the respect they deserve, as I
will expect to receive the same treatment in return.
