Although the installation of the machine is straightforward, we recommend that you should not try to install, adjust, or operate it without first reading this manual. Follow the steps below to ensure the machine functions correctly and optimally: © Observe and follow the procedures indicated on the machine. ‘+ Always use original CYMAQ recommended spare parts. Any use other than that stated in his manual will automatically result in the customer waiving all their rights to compensation from CYMAQ, and will not be considered under the terms and conditions of the warranty. Furthermore, the incorrect use of the machine may endanger the operator and other people. CYMAQ marking machine conforms to European community norms: Machines Directive, Low voltage, Electromagnetic compatibility. CYMAQ marking machine is an electrically or pneumatically driven dot peen marking machine which marks microdots at an adjustable impact force. Characters and logos can be marked with different sizes and depth. Marking can be done on all sorts of materials (metal, plastic, etc.) and flat or curved pieces. ‘ACYMAQ marking machine has following units: 1) Marking head: this is the mechanic part. The stylus can be activated electrically or pneumatically and the movement is done by two belt-driven axes. 2) Control Unit: the electronic control box to edit and mark the data. 3) STARTISTOP pushbutton: to start, pause or end the marking process. CCVMAQ Marking Machine Quick Reference Guide 1.2 Identification plate CYMAQ marking machine has the following identification plate, which specifies the serial number, name of the manufacturer, EC mark, marking head and electronic control unit model and the year of manufacture. (Crag Marking Machine Quick Reference Guide 3. INSTALLING THE MACHINE ] 3.1 Unpacking the machine ‘The machine is packed inside a box. Dimensions and weight of the machine plus packaging depends on the type of marking machine. ‘When unpacking the machine, inspect it carefully for any damage caused during transit If you find damage, notify the carrier immediately and do not touch the machine until the carrier's agent has carried out the corresponding inspection. When unpacking the box make sure the following accessories are inside along with the machine (Marking head -+ Control unit): Power supply cable + ferrite Set of fuses Start/Stop pushbutton CD Manual CE community norms conformity's sheet Air filter/Regulator + Lubricator (Only for pneumatic marking head) 3.2 Installation ‘The machine is assembled, calibrated and checked in the factory of PYFE S.A. To ensure the machine operates correctly position the marking machine on a flat, stable surface able to resist the weight of the machine. Make sure there is enough space around the machine for the operator to work in comfortably. Before switching the machine on for the first time you have to do following checks: + Connect the cable of the marking head to the MARK connector on the unit contro! box. + Connect the START/STOP buttons to the MAN connector on the unit control box. * Connect the machine to the main supply by a plug withan earth wire and a differential switch. The supply voltage has to be according to the data on the identification plate on the rear side of the control unit. + Itis essential that the electrical system at the premises s connected to earth and is also fitted with a differential safety device. Make sure the machine is connected to earth. * Switch the machine on with the switch on the rear side of the controller, + After switching the machine on an internal test is conducted to check the marking head. A few seconds later control unit displays the main menu. + Adjust the screen contrast by turning the CTR dial at the rear side of the control unit. + Marking: the stylus does not represent any direct risk to hands or arms, However, the marking area should always be cleared before pressing the mark button. 3.3 Air filter/Regulator + Lubricator (ONLY PNEUMATIC MARKING HEAD) CCrtaag Marking Machine Quick Reference Guide ‘The filter/Regulator unit controls air pressure to the marking head. The filter/regulator unit includes: 1) Slide Valve ON/OFF air supply 2) Manometer. 3) Air Filter for dirt 4) Air Control-Gauge Regulator (Turn actuator) 5) Tank for oil, with oll drop rate adjustable. (The oll drop rate is adjustable depending on equipment requirements). IMPORTANT NOTE: Before start using the marking system fill the oil tank with a minimum oil level of 1 cm? The oil keep the piston (N14, N20, N34) lubricated. Recommended oil viscosity: Oil clasel (ISO V632) Equivalent to the Clasel (ISO VG32) oil: MOBIL: DTE 24 or DTE OIL Light TEXACO: RANDO HD 32 PETRO-CANADA: HARMONY AW 32 SHELL: TELLUS 32 CMAQ Marking Machine Quick Reference Gude ZZ FORCE ( ONLY SOLENOID MARKING HEAD) ] In the machines of activation by solenoid you can select a value of force that changes from 1 to 9. For a force of value 9 it is possible to choose the option * double Punch ' that allows to strike two times the same point. The user will choose the value of the force depending on the penetration (deep) that he wishes according to the hardness or the surface of the piece to marking, ‘We will choose the force depending on the size of characters or on the different levels of surface ina piece. To know what force to select you will have to test before. According to the selected force, the solenoid will get excited in major or minor measure. With higher forces it is necessary to increase also the distance of the punch to the surface that we want to mark, It is important to properly setup the distance punch-surface since a wrong distance reduces the penetration at the moment of marking and even the solenoid might burn. ‘The distance between the punch and the piece to marking never has to be higher that 10 mm, especially when high forces are in use. To fit the height you can use the micrometric (for DS7050 and DS6040 marking heads) or the mobile column (for ML1711 marking head) Distance pin-piece to mark Next there is a table that gives an orientation for the distance from the pin of the punch up to the piece to mark depending on the selected force. FORCE | DISTANCE PIN TO PIECE | DISTANCE PIN TO PIECE SOLENOID S4 SOLENOID S6 [5. PUNCH ‘The punch is of carbide of Tungsten. The standard sharp is of 120 ® for hardened steels, It is possible to sharpen the pin with a wheel adapted for carbide of tungsten. It is possible to change the sharpened of the pin as be convenient, A low angle is, appropriate for painted surfaces. ExMAQ Marking Machine Qui eference Guide |6. TROUBLESHOOTING J + The machine does not switch on: Check that the machine is connected to the main power supply and that the fuses are OK (T2A fuses). + After power the machine message “Failure in motors X or Y” or “Connect START/STOP button” appears: Turn off power, check all connections on rear of the controller. + The machine switches on but the head does not move: Check that the fuses are Ok. * Display screen is dark: Adjust display at rear of controller + The external keyboard does not work or the button functions have changed: Check that the keyboard is properly connected at the rear of the machine. + The marking is misaligned or deformed: Check the belts and tighten them if necessary. [8. MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES Maintenance procedures for care of the marking head consist of: Head ‘Operation Frequency General ‘General cleaning of the unit 100 hours General “Tighten the belts 280 hours Filter/Regulator unit ) Pneumatic drive units | Check Lubricator and clean ‘B00 hours: filter ) ) 2. Lubricant 1.1 Minimum oil level on the oil tank: 1 cm? 1:2 Recommended oil viscosity: Oil close! If the pin is fill with oil, it means that the lubrication is excessive, This will damage internal parts on the marking head and also it can get the limit switches dirties. If depth of marked is uneven or the frequency of the pin movement is erratic, it means that the lubrication is scant. In this situation, you get a deficient mark, Tr CCHMAQ Marking Machine Quick Reference Guide Ee 2. Tighten the belts 1. Remove the protective cover. 2. Tum the two eccentric screws to tighten/loosen the belts. Do not tighten the belts too much as this may exert too much pressure on the slide. 7 9.
