1 Safety Instructions
ZE100 is designed and tested in accordance with the international safety
requirements. But as with all electrical and electronic equipment, certain
precautions should be observed during installation, operation and maintenance
work. Operation or work performed incorrectly can result in damage to:
 The life and well-being of the operator or a third party
 ZE100 and other properties that belong to the operator or a third party
To reduce the risk of injury and ensure the normal operation of ZE100, you must
read over and follow all the instructions, cautions and warnings.

All installation work must only be performed by qualified personnel. They

have
 been trained specially;
 already completely read through and understood the manual and other
related documents;
 been familiar with safety requirements of electrical system.
Technical personnel mentioned above may perform the following work:
 Install ZE100 to the side of the inverter
 Connect ZE100 to the PV system
 Connect other devices to the PV system
 Commission ZE100
 Operate and maintain ZE100

Before Installation

The first thing user should do after receiving ZE100 is to check if there is any
damage during transport. If so, please contact Sungrow or the shipping
company immediately.

1
1 Safety Instructions User Manual

There is a risk of injury if the product is mishandled!

 Always follow the instructions in the manual when moving and
positioning ZE100.
 The weight of the equipment can cause injuries, serious wounds, or
bruising if mishandled.

During Mechanical Installation

System performance can be impaired by poor ventilation!

The equipment requires well ventilation during operation. It is essential to
make sure the equipment interior is well cool down.

During Electrical Connection

All electrical connection must in accordance with national and local

requirements.

During ZE100 Operation

Do not open ZE100 enclosure when ZE100 is running or under voltage.

Only an intact and closed enclosure can ensure the personal and property

4.4 Storage of ZE100

If it is not installed immediately, you should store ZE100 properly:
 The unit must be stored in original package and the desiccant must be left in the
package.
 Seal the package with tape.
 The unit must be stored in a clean and dry place to protect against dust and
moisture.
 The storage temperature should be always between -25 °C and +70 °C. And the
storage relative humidity should be always between 0 and 95%.
 It is very important to keep the package away from chemicals. Otherwise it will
lead to corrosion.
 During the storage time, check periodically for visible damages by rats. Replace
the package if necessary.
 The package cannot be tilted or upside down.
 After long-term storage, a thorough and professional inspection is needed before
installing ZE100.

automatically as shown in Fig. 10-2.

Fig. 10-2 Main screen

Tab. 10-2 Description of the main screen
State Description
After being energized, inverter tracks the PV arrays’ maximum power
Run point (MPP) and converts the DC power into AC power. This is the
normal operation mode.
Inverter enters Standby mode when DC side input power is insufficient.
Standby In this mode inverter will wait within the Standby duration (set by user,
refer to 10.10 Run-param Setting).
Stop Inverter is stopped.
Internal DSP stops by LCD menu setting; restart by the start setting
Key-stop
through LCD menu.
Start… The inverter is initializing and synchronizing with the grid.
Inverter output power can be adjusted via the LCD display. The value of
Dispatch
Pac limit is lower than 100%
Output derating is a way to protect the inverter form overload or
potential faults.
Derating Situations require inverter power derating are: Internal temperature is
too high (include ambient temperature and module temperature) , grid
voltage is too low and so on.
If a fault occurs, inverter will automatically stop operation, disconnect
the AC relay, and display the fault information on the LCD display with
Fault ххх the “FAULT” indicator on. “ххх” is the fault code, e.g. “010”.
Once the fault is removed in recovery time (set by user, refer to 10.10
Run-param Setting), inverter will automatically resume running.
Warn ххх Warning information is detected. “ххх” is the warning code, e.g. “070”.

information interface.
“Input” is the energy consumed from the grid by
residential load.
“Output” is the energy inverter fed to the grid.
“METER” indicates the normal communication
connection between the inverter and the
meter/bank; if no, the connection is
disconnected.

If inverter is in “Fault” state, touch  to view “Current fault” information. To know the
meaning of the fault code, please refer to “9.1 Troubleshooting”.

10.4 Contrast Adjustment

Step 1 Press/touch  on main screen to enter into the contrast adjustment screen

Step 2 Touch  to increase the setting value and touch  to decrease the value
Step 3 Press  to confirm the contrast setting

Contrast adjustment range: 0…100%

Recommended value: 50% or 60%.

10.5 Checking Running Information

The main screen displays some basic information about the inverter. For more
detailed information, please operate as follows:

30
User Manual 10 Operation of LCD Display

Main Screen (Press )→Menu→Run-inform (Press )

LCD display will show the detailed running information. Scroll pages by touching .
Power curve: shows the power output in a
single day. Each point in the curve is the
percentage of present power and nominal
power.

If the inverter has two pairs of DC input terminals, the DC information will be shown in
the following figure.
“Indep / Paral mode” are the two modes of the inverter PV input configuration.
For independent mode, the two PV inputs work independently, each with its own
MPPT. Therefore the two PV inputs can be independent from each other and with
individual MPPT. The two PV inputs can therefore be different from each other,
including different PV panel types, different numbers of panels in PV string, different
tilt angles or orientation angle of PV modules.
For parallel mode, PV inputs can be connected in parallel. All PV strings connected to
the inverter have a homogenous structure, including the same type, the same number
of PV panels, identical tilt and identical orientation.

Vdc[V]: voltage of each input.

Idc[A]: current of each input.
Pdc[W]: power of each input.

If the inverter only has a one DC input terminal, the DC information will be shown in
the following figure.

Vdc[V]: input voltage.

Idc[A]: input current.
Pdc[W]: input power.

Vac[V]: output voltage.

Iac[A]: Output current.
Pac[W]: output power.
F[Hz]: Output frequency.

“Country” is the country code where the

inverter is located.
“Temp” is the inverter internal
temperature.
