1 Safety Instructions
ZE100 is designed and tested in accordance with the international safety
requirements. But as with all electrical and electronic equipment, certain
precautions should be observed during installation, operation and maintenance
work. Operation or work performed incorrectly can result in damage to:
The life and well-being of the operator or a third party
ZE100 and other properties that belong to the operator or a third party
To reduce the risk of injury and ensure the normal operation of ZE100, you must
read over and follow all the instructions, cautions and warnings.
Before Installation
The first thing user should do after receiving ZE100 is to check if there is any
damage during transport. If so, please contact Sungrow or the shipping
company immediately.

User Manual 1 Safety Instructions
Restart ZE100 only after removing all faults that may affect ZE100 safety
performance.
There are no user serviceable parts inside ZE100. For maintenance or
repair, please contact Sungrow.
Others
Certain LCD parameters (e.g. country selection and etc.) must be set by
professional personnel!
Incorrect country setting may affect ZE100 normal operation and lead to
mismatch of ZE100 and the certification of that country.

2.1.4 Functions
Functions of ZE100 can be classified into the followings:
Data storage and display function
ZE100 stores the system information including the running information, fault record
and etc. and displays them on the LCD panel.
It can display the total energy used by user, total PV energy generated and the
energy used by the grid. The daily energy generated of a single device, total energy
generated and power, supportive display as well as the inverter configuration data
are also displayed.
Parameter configuration
ZE100 provides many parameter configurations to meet various requirements and
optimize the inverter performance.
Communication method
Provide standard RS485 interface and WiFi.

4 Unpacking and Storage
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
ZE100 has been strictly inspected and tested before delivery. Despite robust
packaging, the machine may be damaged during transport. Therefore, once you
receive ZE100, a detailed inspection is necessary.
Check if the external package is broken;
Check if the delivery contents are complete and the same as your order;
Check if the internal device is intact after unpacking.
If any damage is detected, contact the shipping company or Sungrow immediately.
A relevant photo is preferred. We will provide you with the fast and best service.
Please do not dispose the original package of ZE100. When ZE100 is
decommissioning, please store it in its original package.

Notices
The installed meter should be vertical and should not be tilted. The connection must
be correct by strictly following the marks on the enclosure; otherwise the meter may
be burnt down due to the high voltage. The poor contact and too thin of the cables
may cause fire or burn. Take the meter range into consideration during cable
connection to avoid the meter damage by too large load current.
16
6 Electrical Connection
After installed and fixed to the installation site, ZE100 can then be connected to the
PV system.
Electrical connection must be in accordance to the local regulations and related
electrical regulations (AS 4777.1 and etc.)
Step 2 Connect the RJ45 plug to the corresponding RJ45 port on the bottom of the
inverter. First tighten the screws on both side of the water-proof terminal and
then screw the nut.

7 Commissioning
7.1 Inspection before Commissioning
Before starting up ZE100 for the first time, you should check the following items:
19
7 Commissioning User Manual
Step 7 After the above settings, the LCD display of ZE100 will display “Run” state.
20
8 Decommissioning, Dismantling
and Disposing of ZE100
8.1 Decommissioning of ZE100
During normal operation, there is no need to stop ZE100. However, for maintenance
or troubleshooting, ZE100 needs to be stopped.
The LCD and other components of ZE100 may cause environment pollution
if not properly handled. Please dispose ZE100 according to the related
regulations.

User Manual 10 Operation of LCD Display
If the inverter has two pairs of DC input terminals, the DC information will be shown in
the following figure.
“Indep / Paral mode” are the two modes of the inverter PV input configuration.
For independent mode, the two PV inputs work independently, each with its own
MPPT. Therefore the two PV inputs can be independent from each other and with
individual MPPT. The two PV inputs can therefore be different from each other,
including different PV panel types, different numbers of panels in PV string, different
tilt angles or orientation angle of PV modules.
For parallel mode, PV inputs can be connected in parallel. All PV strings connected to
the inverter have a homogenous structure, including the same type, the same number
of PV panels, identical tilt and identical orientation.
If the inverter only has a one DC input terminal, the DC information will be shown in
the following figure.
