FORMS REQUIRED AT AIRPORT/CUSTOMS WHEN ENTERING EL SALVADOR

Among the requirements to travel to El Salvador as a tourist, the following documents should
be considered:

1- Identification document: Citizens from Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala can present
both a Personal Identification Document (PID) and a passport as identification. While citizens
of other nationalities may enter El Salvador exclusively with a valid passport.

2- Tourist Visa: The foreigners according to their category of country and if the case
deserves it, they must present consular or consulted visa, according to the category of the
country to which corresponds their nationality. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
El Salvador to determine the type of visa you need, the following forms are used.
3- Tourism card: Document given when entering the country, which must be paid in cash to
the immigration officers at the entry points to El Salvador. Nicaragua, Guatemala and
Honduras, are the only countries exempted from this procedure.
4- Vaccination against yellow fever, only for countries of South America, Africa, as well as
Panama, it is required a certificate that accredits vaccination against yellow fever 15 days prior
to the trip.

5- Custom declaration: At the moment of entering El Salvador, a form known as “Custom


declaration" is delivered, where any article indicated in the document must be declared.
