Chapter 10

Pretend you are Alex. Your mission is to re-write an excerpt from this chapter sharing your thoughts and
feelings as it happened. Make the scene as exciting as you can and be sure to use lots of Adjectives when
describing what happened.

You have the choice of re- writing the full chapter by yourself OR filling in the blanks in
Scaffold version. You may attempt either option or both.

Here is an Example of how you might start it


Ouch! It sure hurt when I hit the ground and ran into that ditch, but I knew I had to keep going, the roaring
sound of the engine was edging closer and closer to me. Vrooom! Before I knew it the engine raced over
my head nearly taking it off, at this point I was terrified. I looked up and saw a dark shadowy figure on a
Quad Bike and wondered why this man was trying to kill me.

Scaffolded Version

In these chapters we find out what Herod Sayle’s plans are with StormBreaker.

Activity
Pretend you are a talk show host on a news program and you are interviewing Herod Sayle. With a partner
you are to come up with interview questions that you can ask Herod Sayle. You might ask him questions
about StormBreaker and about his plans with it. Once you have come up with the questions come up with
answers to the questions. Once you have finished act it out with you partner, one person will be the
interviewer and the other will be Herod Sayle.

Chapter 15
Throughout the book we have seen Alex use many of his cool gadgets. In this chapter Alex uses one of
his in this chapter Alex uses his Yo-yo to help him get onto the plane.
Your task is to create three gadgets that you think would be very helpful for Alex. It can be a whole new
Gadget or another game for the Game Boy, it is your choice. If you can create three interesting and cool
gadgets you will win a prize.

Gadget What does it do?


1. Yo-yo with 30 metres of strong When Yo-yo is fired it shoots a harpoon that attaches to high
nylon and a motorised clip objects. When you press the button, the motor pulls you up.
2. Zit cream Rub it on any metal surface. It will chew through the metal like
acid allowing entry anywhere.

3. Game Boy- NEMESIS Acts as a fax machine where Alex can send back important
information to MRS Jones office in London
4. Game Boy- EXOCET When this game inserted the Game Boy turns into an X ray
machine allowing you to see through walls
5. Game Boy- SPEED Acts as a scanner allowing you to see any hidden bugs in the
room.
6. Game Boy- BOMBER When you press the start button three times it will turn into a
smoke bomb allowing a quick escape
